-the wifi wasnt the best but it kinda worked -we had a room downstairs (not all rooms are downstairs) and the stairs are very small

Location and cleanliness were amazing. Room was small but had everything we needed plus a pink light for when a bright light would just not do. Staff were friendly and helpful. Surprisingly quiet.

Unfortunately while the neighbourhood was very nice, it was far from subway (20+ mins walking) and while the bus stop is practically next to the front doors, the buses in DC were horrible (always delayed, sometimes they didn't come at all, etc.), so getting anywhere was a pain. That's a huge disadvantage and a pity, as the place is otherwise basically perfect.

Very nice hostel/hotel in a lively part of DC, lots of restaurants and other places to eat and socialize around. Beds are very nice, with curtains you can shut completely, and my room had ensuite bathroom, which was nice, I didn't have to look for my keycard to use the toilet at night. Kitchen was very nice too, basically anything you might need for cooking. Staff was nice and helpful, wifi was great. Since the room had just one bathroom, there were other bathrooms outside of rooms you could use if yours was occupied, that was nice. You can get toiletries for free at the lobby, same for tea and coffee. The building is cute.

The only complaint I have is the amount of air freshener used throughout the place. In the lobby it was almost suffocating.

The location is fine, but I had to take the bus to the main attractions. It wasn’t a problem, as DC has a great public transport system.

I really loved my stay at the HighRoad. The room looks like the pictures and it was very clean. I also liked that my room had a private bathroom. There are many restaurants around and also a supermarket. The staff is friendly and supportive.

Super cute hostel/hotel. Loved the room. Staff was very friendly. Fresh towels in room. Seems like a good location with decent nightlife (however, it was a bit loud Friday night if you are sensitive to noise). I am not sure there is an elevator so you might have to do the three flights, which isn't bad unless you have a lot of bags or have done a lot of walking. Would definitely stay here again!

I would have liked to check in before the event, but the checkin time was at 4pm, which I found to be quite late, considering that check out is at 11am. Also, 300$ a night, it was quite pricy, but I assumed it was because of the season.

I didn't expect much from a 2 stars hotel, however, this one had everything I needed, including toiletries and they offered tea and coffee. The checkin was 24h, which was great as I arrived quite late from my work event. Kind stuff, and efficient check in and check out. I also loved the streets around the hotel. There are nice bakeries, and at night great atmosphere.

The bottom bunk in the all-women's dorm room was small -- it worked for me, but it's not roomy.

The location was excellent; the staff were friendly, helpful and professional, the facilities were well maintained and provided a good atmosphere. The room was also clean and comfortable overall.

the reception has an odd smell which is a really bad first impression. I was on a third floor and was super challenging getting my luggage upstairs without any help.

Even though the hotel's location is great (lots bars, restaurant and groceries nearby), finding an affordable parking spot, can be challenging.

The location was great and had so many walkable options for dining. The rooms were small but beautiful- which isn't an issue if you are planning to explore the city like my group was. It was also very nice to have 24/7 help through the front desk when needed and they provided a lot of helpful information!

Common area is very nice and quiet but alas I can not say same thing for my room (123) Ground floor windows are weak to isolation of outside and on a Tuesday night there was a street music until 12am. Also I was unlucky regarding people I shared the room, mostly they were disrespectful. It might be better to put reminders into the rooms about the rules.
