To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel was perfectly located for our needs to take the Staten Island Ferry following our one night stay. Also, an easy walk from the subway from midtown.

Location was good close to Staton Island Ferry Terminal, World Trade Centre Memorial and Wall Street. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. Best so far on our trip.

ItalyIf you're looking for a special experience, this is not it. It's standard and anonymous, but for us it was fine.
I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel! We didn't spend a fortune for a nice big room with a nice bathroom too. Location in the heart of the Financial District is just perfect and a step away from Battery Park where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. It's also very well connected both with Brooklyn and the rest of Manhattan and the neighborhood is much less busy than central Manhattan. We could also grab free coffee in the lobby every morning, which was great.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Short walk to Wall Street, subway and ferry station. There are also a number of good restaurants, delis and pharmacies around the corner. Being able to do laundry during your stay is also a plus!

United States of AmericaEvery time we turned the tv off when we turned it back on the cable was gone. They fixed it, but we ended up having to leave it on all day and night.The room was small. Lots of dust on the door to the bathroom!
The afternoon front desk young lady was Awesome! The location was great! Very close to the subway, ferry, walking distance to restaurants, 9/11 Memorial. We would definitely stay there again.
