Pool not heated, so tepid or cold and much small than photo suggests. Query bed bugs in my son's bed?! He has 18 bites. Too much light coming into the room. Mould on food being sold in corner of hotel (their kind of mini deli areas) and loads out of date (by weeks not months) reception staff acknowledged that it got "too hot due to the direct sunlight" so pretty poor that. Parking far too expensive, I found somewhere a 5 min walk away for 20 dollars a day rather than the 50 dollars they were asking.

Great location. Fast and easy wifi. Fabulous breakfast. Decent room and quiet. Adequate gym for a small work out.

The pillow cases were not cleaned very well, there was what looked like makeup stains and hotel bar closed early. Also… nothing to do with the hotel but I booked through booking.com which stated breakfast was included but it’s not. On the hotel’s actual website it says breakfast available for a fee, so beware if you’re not booking directly through the website.

The location was walking distance from the White House and other monuments.

The first night of our stay we were given a suite (201) that was two floors above several large exhaust fans that operated continuously 24 hours a day. Being in the room sounded like flying in a regional twin turboprop airplane. It looked like all the suites at that end of the building (x01) would have the same problem as this end of the building was enclosed on all sides by other buildings, the only place for the noise to go was up. Also if you wanted to know the weather from in the room, you had to get low in the window to look up through the column of buildings to see any sky. Some of the front lobby staff could have been a little friendly and helpful, it seemed at times that we were disturbing them from doing something else.

This was a great location to use when visiting DC. The entrance to the Metro was just across the street from the hotel. It is just a three block walk to the Whitehouse. There are several good restaurants within two blocks. I would give the hotel breakfast a good rating, but not outstanding for the price. The dinners at the hotel restaurant were of good quality and a reasonable price. We booked a suite with King bed. The second room (#217) was very quiet (see issue in dislike about first room) and we enjoyed having the extra room. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful when we had questions.

Confirming in what I read in other reviews, the air conditioning unit cannot be turned off, so there is always a background noise. Manage to sleep through it though, but can imagine that some people may find it bothersome.

Hotel and room were as expected based on the reviews that I saw pre-booking. It's across the road from the metro station so you can get around easily. Had breakfast twice, staff is helpful and friendly, no complaints regarding quality of food.

I expected a bit better quality from a Hilton. The rooms were clean but the bedding was very thin. Like, really thin. Looks like they renovated from the 80’s with a coat of paint over doors that didn’t match the new decor. I’d give the rooms a c+.

We used the pool a lot and I noticed the area didn't seem to be cleaned during the day. The chair cushions seemed a bit worn out and the poolside area could have been cleaner.

The breakfast was excellent, loved being able to choose from a variety. Would have preferred one more cereal option - there were a lot of kids cereals, cornflakes would have been good. Good location. The room was clean and the bathrooms were good, hot shower and good water pressure.

The ONLY thing I didn't love- and this is so nitpicky - is that our room was right across from the ice machine and elevators, and that woke us up a couple of times. Other than that, the room worked perfectly for our family of four.

The Hilton Garden Inn was fantastic. It's two blocks from the White House (which is helpful when you need to drop off bags before going there), immediately adjacent to bus and subway transportation and the staff is great.

In general paying for parking sucks in DC. But the valet at the hotel is the same as parking your vehicle yourself in a garage, so you might as well take advantage of the service. They did a good job getting the vehicle to us when needed and informing us how to use the app. So this could be a like/dislike item. :-)
