Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Parking nearby was tricky.
Very quick stay. Check-in and check-out was quick and seamless. Comfortable room with great view of Coit Tower.

The burgers and coffe was disquasting in closest coffe bar in reception.
Staff was really friendly un helpfull. They gave advices about traveling in city. they helped to book other extra night in hotell , althought it was in other room, but still we were allowed to bring our bags early than check in time.

They can’t find my booking.com booking when I arrived at night after a long flight from Singapore and put me in a normal room first) since the premium room with balcony that I booked and prepaid was no longer available. I highlighted that I specifically booked this room type so that I don’t need to change room for the rest of my 4 nights stay under my corporate booking. However, the staff just said that they already helped me by creating a reservation for me and their manager already left and they could only check the next day. I was standing at the front desk for a long time while 2-3 staff tried to check and can’t find my booking. Since I signed up for a day trip next day, I had to pack and carry my luggage and store it with the concierge at 5.20am since I need to change room. When I got back at night, the hotel staff only issued me with a new room under my corporate booking. When I checked about the status of my booking.com booking since I paid more for a room type I did not get, I was told that this time the manager is out for lunch (though it is already 9pm+) and I could only check with the manager when he is back. I was too tired for this and asked that they sort this out and get back to me. Still waiting.

Didn’t like the sliding door into the bedroom toilet as it did not provide adequate privacy.
Location, friendly, helpful and cheerful staff. Very comfortable bed and spacious room.

the location was perfect for us.We had a high floor with a view of the bay as requested thank you for filling our request. Front desk service 5 star. really enjoyed the entire experience, We come to San Fran once a year and The Hilton is our new favorite.

Note that restauants close early in the US compared to Europe, dining out seems to be 6-8pm. Extravagant ones open till 10 😅but that is an exception. Writing this as I saw several comments saying that there are no restaurants in the area, which is completely wrong. Plenty of dinner places but they close early.
Perfect location, nice functional hotel, clean with comfy beds but no luxory. positive impression, especially after reading some of the negative comments by other guest. You will not find a completely sound proof room in the center of a big town - so earplugs could do for the sensitive - or a visit to the country side. Also plenty of excellent Italian and Chinese restaurants very close to the hotel. You are in San Fransisco, USA so less fortunate people can’t be avoided in a centric location. I did not find the few homeless people around problematic (sad though) but did not stay out after 10pm. Hotel has huge TV screen in common room for guests and an OK restaurant. Perfect location and great value for the price.
