Our dinner. See above. Also the room air conditioner was difficult control so the room was on the hot and stuffy side.

Breakfast was very good. However, we were disappointed in our dinner entrees. My salmon was over cooked and bland. My wife's chicken dish lacked flavor and was not tender. I ordered a Manhattan and it was not good, not mixed properly and was pink. We skipped dinner there the following night and went out.

The air conditioner which was housed inside a shaft in the room was very noisy!

Indeed it does have a historic feel about it. There are informative and interesting posters, art and pictures scattered about the hotel. Has lovely outdoor seating spaces to enjoy a drink or just sit and read. The front desk staff were very courteous.

This is a historic hotel so the rooms are smaller than modern places. However the bathrooms are updated and very clean.

We loved our stay at this historic hotel in Berea! The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings was appreciated. There are many gathering areas on the main level filled with charming touches, like fresh flowers. The friendly staff made our stay!

Our room was slightly smaller than expected but still big enough for my husband and I.

I love the history of this place. It's beautiful inside and out. I love that the furniture has all been made by Berea College students!

It was difficult to sleep. The a/c controls are not very good. The best I could figure was you could set a timer for 30 or 60 minutes, then it would stop running. So, I got up every 30 minutes, then every 60 minutes to turn it back on. I defaulted to ceiling fan and opening the window, but the ceiling fan roars (it's too loud to sleep and with the occasional car/truck rumbling by, it's not an option. Also while I think a duvet is fine in the cold weather, there's not an option for a sheet and a light blanket.

The location was perfect. I was there for a family event, but was able to visit and learn about Berea College and thought that was a bonus. The staff are excellent. Perfect on that account.

The staff was amazing. There was a mix up in the reservation and they was quick and more than happy to assist me with the issue. They also called with a follow up the next day just to make sure I was happy and taken care of.

Specific to my room, #328, here are the things that would have boosted my 4's to 5's. (1) A small work desk. (2) A chair. (Any chair, but preferably one to go with the desk. I had a Zoom meeting scheduled and had to use the ironing board for a desk as I sat on the bed. Not ideal, but it worked.) (3) A working bedside lamp. I never could get the one I had to work, even after the staff provided new lightbulbs and I switched out plugs as well, just in case. So it goes.

Loved the location, the staff, the historic ambiance. Extra special surprise was being referred to Papa Leno's for dinner after Boone's restaurant had closed. Papa Leno's Italian sandwich (cold) was excellent.

Some maintenance issues with electric outlets that did not work as well one would like. Also, in room coffee maker did not work for us. You have to understand the age of the hotel and extensive restorations.

Beautiful restored hotel with historic ambience. Wonderful staff who were very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were very comfortable and new mattresses were very nice.
