The shuttle was provided to get over the location slightly out of town. The problem was it didnt run to schedule. We were stranded twice downtown when the shuttle left a good five minutes before its designated time - both times we were walking towards the pick up point and could see it arrive and quickly take off! The "welcome" at check-in was surly to say the least. No interaction, no information and certainly no southern charm. It stood out because everywhere else we went the people were so friendly and welcoming.

Functionary. Reasonable value for money because of location - downtown Hotels are very expensive. Had the shuttle but that was erratic.

The decor as well as the carpet were dated and old. Breakfast was not worth 16 dollars as it was an upscale continental breakfast.

Air conditioning did not cool all that well but we stayed comfortable for the most part.

Loved the location and views, the restaurant and bar were great. The shuttle was such a great perk!

The professionalism of staff could have been better, the night desk clerk on 4/23 and the manager Melanie Kalyna were the exception, they did their best to make the stay pleasant and to deal with the results of other staff's unprofessionalism. The breakfast was sufficient but of poor quality and taste, definitely not a good value. The roach that was crawling around in the room was very concerning.

The view was amazing. The size of the room was adequate but the walls were like paper, one could hear everything going on in the adjoining room.

One of the elevators was out of order, so we had to wait or get into an over crowded elevator to get to our room. The food at the hotel was ok, nothing amazing.

The toilet ran unless you stuck your hand in the tank to fidget with the stopper.

The hotel was very close to the VA hospital, and easy to get to. The staff was friendly and professional. The restaurant provided beautiful views and great food. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Cleanliness. It was not clean. Small cockroaches on the desk in our room. We killed at least 2 of them.

The bar should be open later than 9 or 10pm, the bulding needs a whole refurbishing, everything looks too outdated.

The exterior did look a bit run down as you first pulled up, though thankfully the interior spaces had been recently updated and were in good condition, especially in contrast with the first impression.

The regular shuttle service to downtown Charleston made it easy to access that area without having to deal with driving and parking in the chaos.

The hotel is between 2 highways, which could be OK but the windows are not double glazed so the traffic noise is constant. The hotel needs a bit of TLC

The view from the restaurant is magnificent and if you can make it by 6.30, you will be treated to a gorgeous sunrise. The rooms are spacious and staff are happy to help (if they can). The shuttle service is a nice feature, and also necessary as there is no way out from the hotel other than on wheels! The gym is open 24h so for those with a jetlag can go for a run at night :)
