Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe registration desk staff were acting mechanically, too unfriendly.
Hotels in Santa Barbara are too expensive for what they are. Carpinteria is not too far from Santa Barbara, it is a small town with a nice beach and with accommodations that are more affordable.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was good. The location was excellent. It was good for two nights. Carpinteria is a great place to stay in between Ventura and Santa Barbra. No traffic to speak of. Easy to park for a beach city.

United States of AmericaMy biggest qualm would be the outdated toilets. It's the type where the bowl fills slowly with water and the flusher handle is an old crank on the side. It's 2022, we are sending people to Mars, let's get updated quick flushing toilets installed everywhere. The kind with "big flush" and "little flush" buttons on its top.
The shower was high pressure, the whole room was clean, the staff were friendly and the newness of the place was more than expected. I am always worried of outdated"retro" hotels that are like romanticized by such qualities but practically are not doing it for me.

United States of AmericaTheir breakfast, which was included, was overrun with too many people to be safe during a pandemic. When will hotels realize that placing the AC/heater right next to the bed is a horrible design????
Lots of free parking, including some covered, which was great because it was raining when we arrived. The room was very spacious for the two of us and our dog

United States of AmericaI informed the front desk that the towel rack next to the sink was broken. They informed me their handy man would be in the room in the next hour or so to make the repair and that I did not need to be in the room for the repair. I waited an hour at the pool and returned to my room and nothing was repaired. Nobody came that day or the next day for the repair and no follow-up. It was more of a communication issue for me to either let me know ok they will be coming at this time or not.
I like the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, the location of the hotel is very convenient for travel, and the staff was very friendly and professional. The pool and jacuzzi was a great bonus. Plus, the parking is very convenient.

United States of AmericaWe booked 2 rooms a month in advance. Room #1 with a king bed and room #2 with double Queen beds. Room #1 with the king bed was to have been switched to be handicap accessible and received confirmation it would be changed to double bed to make the accommodations possible. We agreed. Unfortunately, on the day of arrival we found that it was room #2 that was made handicap accessible. Only difference between both room is the walk in shower instead of tub. We didn't want to make a big deal of it because my father felt ok with it and the person that checked us in was polite but not nice if you know what i mean. He said we were lucky we'd gotten the last room. Again, I had booked a month in advance! At the end, we could have done without the handicap accessibility because the walk in shower was so messy and water splattered all over the bathroom floor! we had to lay out towels in order to not walk on water and avoid from slipping. Truly a hazard.
Loved the cleanliness and amenities. The pool was warm and easily accessible. Breakfast had a variety of options. We had mistakenly forgotten an insulin pen in the fridge and even-though it took being placed on hold for a while and calling back several times, Brianna and Aaron were helpful in keeping it safe while we drove back to pick it up.
