To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaAfter making a full, prepaid booking on Booking.com (the money out of my account), the staff at the front counter claimed it wasn't properly processed and that they would have to take my card number and possibly charge me more, since Booking.com apparently gave me a discount they weren't authorized to make??? Then they immediately charged me an additional $100 for an "incident fee" at $50 per night, a charge that was not listed anywhere and never mentioned before. I asked about it and she said they weren't obligated to inform guests of incident fees and that those charges are always a surprise to all guests. It felt like I was being swindled. I would've slept in my car if it hadn't been below 0⁰ outside. And lastly, $10 for parking...per night...to park in the parking lot...of the hotel I already paid to stay at. I felt like this was bsolutely unacceptable. It almost caused me to cancel my booking and pull out, but the person I was meeting there had just arrived. After all this, she said "You want to spin the prize wheel!?" I looked a little wheel on my righr with illegible marker scratchings and unnexcitedly spun. "Two free concession items!" she said. It was $8 for a small bag of chips. Absolutely disgraceful and embarrassing prices, even for millionaires. The she said, "Or you can trade that for free parking." I gave her an annoyed look and said, "Free parking." Upon entering our room, ther was hair in the shower, pet hair on some of the furniture, the metal handle to the shower door fell off when I touched it, the toilet rocked back and forth, and the pillows were dead flat. The complimentary breakfast was less than sub par; with the sausage being sad and shrivled, the eggs totally flavorless, the potatoes soggy and cold, and featuring sliced up hot dogs as a main item. Gross.
The hot tub and pool were perfect temperatures and very comfortable. Not busy at all and very relaxing. All the staff members themselves were very friendly and helpful as far as they could be. I was not necessarily annoyed at the any of the staff for the displeasures I experienced. But Changes to their cleaning policies, safety supply checks, and booking services MUST be made.

United States of Americakitchenette's sink had a lot of residue and later in the day, filled up to the top with brackish water that smelled of sewage. The dishwasher had brown standing water in the bottom and still had dishes in it. The vent in the bathroom was caked with grime. The facility took care of the sink, but the same thing happened again the next day, making the the kitchenette pretty much unusable for the entire stay.
Staff was very nice. Breakfast was good. Location was just right.

United States of AmericaThey offered a check in time of 4pm. We had called the previous day about having an early check in. Which they said they most likely could accommodate. We arrived at 330 and were informed the room wasn't not ready. That we'd have to wait till 4. Understandable. We returned at 4 and the room wasn't ready. They said the room still needed to be "inspected." After no answer as to why the room wasn't ready at their guaranteed check in time. We eventually were allowed to check in at 4:40. Which was a huge issue because we had a wedding to be at at 5. Which left us scrambling. When we got to the room, the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. The front desk did not give us the parking pass and when we inquired about getting it they gave us a hard time claiming they had already give us one. We understand it was a busy hotel but they were completely unprepared and unprofessional. The next day at check out they offered an excuse of being short staffed. Also they charged us tax twice, once on prepayment and when we checked in. They blamed booking.com. After talking them we were able to get the charge reversed but if we had not caught it we would have been out of luck.
Beds were comfortable and hotel room was huge. Great breakfast in the morning.

United States of AmericaI didn’t like we ended up having 2 separate rooms and my son ended up sleeping on the floor because he didn’t want to share a bed with his brother. the room I had booked at Homewood suites had enough spaces for everyone to have there own bed. if I would have gotten a room with 2 queens and a sofa bed the rooms wouldn’t have been joined together.
we didn’t stay here. we ended up at the Hampton Inn next door because the card system was down. breakfast was great!
