Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe booked a suite and were really looking forward to it. Upon arrival we were told that there was a flood in the room and we were no longer getting a suite. We were so sad. The desk manager offered us a small discount and wine. It was not enough.
We liked the location. The hotel was very nice and the location was great.

United States of AmericaWe had a weird interaction with the cleaning staff urgently knocking on our door 15-20 minutes before checkout when we had a do not disturb just to ask us when we would be out. It was off putting but otherwise the staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

United States of AmericaMaintenance in the rooms is lacking. Air filters were caked with dust, shower heads and faucets showing considerable mineral buildup, and painting is sloppy crossing over boundaries. The towel rack was coming out of the wall and the bath spigot required two hands to rotate on and off. Wifi is not properly secured and is sporadic, often disconnecting without notice.
The location is great for walking in the gaslamp area and just two blocks away from rail (SD MTA) access. The hotel has an abundance of charm with two small elevators on the west side of the building and a beautiful staircase on the east side that leads to and from the restaurant and bar area. The bar service is friendly, and the drinks and food are good. The meat and cheese board is exceptional.

United States of AmericaHotel staff provides excellent service. Night desk staff was very responsive. After 11:30 pm the smoke alarm in my room started beeping each minute to indicate a new battery was needed. Despite not having a ladder available to use, the desk staff and security person went above and beyond to reach the smoke alarm and remedy the situation.

BulgariaFan in bathroom, quite noisy, and not sure it even worked. Desk chair was very uncomfortable, bathroom towels were surprisingly small and felt very cheap, not soft at all. Bed pillows were tiny, typical of a much less expensive motel.
Friendly Staff, Clean building, great location. They have done a great job of working modern conveniences while keeping the old charm of the historic building. Courtyard was amazing, Balconies are a very nice feature.

United States of AmericaThe shops selection was very lack luster, parking was expensive compared to what I'm used to. The lack of a mini fridge really brought the room quality down. Electric ports were severely limited, and the TV was dated with limited channels of which most were news. The room would sometimes be boiling hot when we returned to it even though I had set it to 70 it'd sometimes be set to 85.
The location was probably the best thing about the hotel, I'm very happy we got to start off the night with a complementary drink, I liked the valet services, and that staff were great. I liked the AC in the room. There was always something to do in the area.

CanadaIt would have been nice to have more breakfast options available at the hotel but there are lots of great restaurants nearby so it wasn't a deal breaker.
A beautiful hotel in a central location and close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay at the Horton Grand Hotel and would highly recommend this to anyone, those interested in history and drawn to character hotels, who enjoy walking to different places, those coming to town for ball games or concerts. Perfect for adults and couples for sure.

This hotel is always sold out when I'm in town for Comic Con, but I was in town for a concert and had to stay here. It's gorgeous, and it has an old-fashioned/historic feel to it. The big selling point was the fireplace, I just loved it.
