Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Could not see mugs or find spoon to stir coffee.
I think for the price it is great. I like the eco friendly green aspect of facilities.

It is not about the property. It’s about the travelers that are noisy and should be more careful when closing the doors. If you are sensitive to noise at night, it would be good to advise that during quiet hours people should try to close the doors softly :)

As previous guests have already mentioned the biggest annoyance about this hostel are its slamming doors. Another minus for me is the air conditioning which made me feel super dehydrated after a couple of days. The air is just super dry in the whole hostel and it’s hard to have a nice temperature in the dorms. It was either freezing or too hot.
The hostel is very well located in Boston Chinatown. The shared spaces (like a big kitchen, laundry room etc) are very well maintained and organized. They offer a simple complimentary breakfast and have free activities on almost every night. I did a free walking tour which was great. The people at the front desk are awesome. They gave me recommendations and helped me when I had an issue with my booking. Also the staff at the kitchen and cleaning the rooms do an excellent job. As in every hostel the quality of your stay always depends on your roommates. I stayed in different rooms during my stay and can warmly recommend the private rooms. They are definitely worth the money!

Beds are the standard Hayek ikea beds. Serviceable if not comfortable.

The beds were a little squeaky and the complimentary breakfast was literally a toast with jelly. Also it was a bit expensive for a hostel.
It was clean, tidy, staff were friendly and helpful. Location is amazing, right in the china town, there is plenty of restaurants around and it’s extremely easy to walk to the city.. There is possibility of storing your luggage after the check out and you can hang out in the foyer and charge your phone or use bathrooms etc.

The water from the shower came extremely hot or extremely cold, and it was difficult to adjust.

Staff are not friendly, lack of customer service and some look grumpy.
Perfect location - centrally located and convenient to get to anywhere. No alcohol and cigarettes in the hostel. Quiet period is from 10pm-7am, which is good. It avoids party people that may interrupt my stay. Facilties of the hostel are good with good dining hall, work area, pool table, etc. They are all very clean.

My roommate was making noise while sleeping like a generator Although he was a nice man.I am sleeping sensitive. Anyway I closed my ears with my fingers but .. nothing.. Not any fault it's natural

Only negative is there were no privacy curtains on the beds. But this was not a major issue for me
Hostel had a great atmosphere. The location was perfect and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms that were always kept clean. I would recommend to a friend
