Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.

The air conditioner was loud. Also, there was lack of counter top space in the bathroom.
I loved the location! Perfect and right in the center of downtown. Restaurants were easily in walking distance.

It’s a very nit-picky thing, but there were only three bath towels in the room, so I had to go ask for another one at the front desk and was given one with a hole in it. Otherwise, nothing to complain about!
The hotel was very conveniently located close to the main entrance to the campus, as well as many delicious restaurants within walking distance in downtown Davis. It’s a newly renovated hotel that is clean and modern. The free continental breakfast had a lot of options for a light breakfast, which worked for us. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Breakfast minimal, parking very tightly spaced.
Nicely styled room in excellent condition. Good coffee service in room with real mugs. Parking and breakfast included in price. Nice dimmable lights and ambient light fixture.

USB charging port didn't work, doorknob to bathroom almost fell off - I tightened it by hand, one electrical outlet didn't hold the plug. Breakfast was minimal and not at all what you'd expect at Davis. C'mon, not Svenhard's pastries! Hotel bills itself as a "boutique" so at least upgrade the breakfast a little, and include a choice for protein like HB eggs or something.
Excellent room, parking close to Farmers Market, full downtown experience, away from freeway. Good coffee setup in room, with actual glass / ceramic cups / mugs - not plastic :-) Room was substantially better than when I stayed here years ago.

A very comfortable, clean, luxurious room in a great location in central Davis. My only quibble would be that there was no one around in the morning when I tried to check out about 6:45 am, but that didn't seem to be a problem.

I never did get hot water in the shower.
This is the place to stay if you arrive on Amtrak. It is an easy walk from the station and an easy walk to the university campus, with restaurants, bookstores and art galleries nearby. Rooms are comfortable. Floors have radiant heat, so feet stay warm. Staff stored my luggage for me after I checked out.

Loud street sweepers at 5 in the morning. But that has nothing to do with the hotel, which was great.

The heater in the room was a bit loud. Some of the shelves were high for shorter people to reach (e.g., microwave). We had hoped to see if we could get a slightly early check-in, but nobody answered the phone or was at the front desk.
The location was fantastic providing easy access to everything in downtown Davis, including restaurants. It was a great value compared to other Davis properties.

The room was very nicely designed exceeding my expectations! The little private outdoor patio was another bonus. The Vines is very conveniently located to downtown Davis and the Amtrak station.
