Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The fact that I arrived 20 minutes after my check in time and my reservation was cancelled and my money was in your account. That's not cool. So give travelers a few to get there. We are traveling at night and may encounter traffic or as I did, get lost...on my way to see old friend

No coffee maker in the room. The neighbors were loud (slamming doors at night), curtains were too dark so I couldn't let the light in without being exposed. continental breakfast had hardly any food, coffee was bad.
Our room was clean. The pillows were comfy and the staff was nice overall.

Microwave didn't work. Came with a replacement and that didn't work either...the 3rd one worked. Key card didn't work on the 2nd day. If you sit at the end of the bed, it may flip over.... No ice machine....did not know it is a $200 deposit....Isn't on the website!!!!!

The cleanliness was not up to par for this suite. Housekeeping has to do more than just straighten up and change sheets. Splatter stains in the kitchen wall. Leftover trash / supplies from previous stays in cabinets and drawers. Questionable buildup and stains in the bathroom floor corners toilet and tub. Bottom of shower the curtain makes you question if it’s been washed or replaced. Overly dusty and stained light fixtures. Drippings or stains on walls and furniture. This suite looked as if it had a previous long term tenant or party prior. Overall I’m sure the property could use a deep clean or better house keeping check lists. 200$ for a deposit is outrageous this is not a high class stay for such a large deposit hold.
The home away from home feel. The opportunity to cook if needed and having the living room area.

Dogs allowed. LOUD, LOUD, AGGRESSIVE dogs! Barking all night, and on one occasion, a huge Pit Bull charged at me in the hall. The owner barely got control of it in time. If I’d had my weapon on me, I would have shot it. Repeatedly.

There was a surprise $100 deposit I wasn't told about ahead of time. They said it'd take a week to get it back 😢 I was short for the event I went to.

Customer service was good it was clean but I didn't get what I paid for, the room they gave me had a sewer problem and I had to be moved to another room, which was even smaller, bed a full size instead of queen.

False advertising of free internet. I was behind work for two days because the internet service offered was poor and in order to get quality service you would have to pay an additional charge. Most hotels offer free quality internet not poor internet to trick you into paying for quality.
Staff was nice and helpful. Clean but furniture was extremely worn in both the bathroom and suite

Didn't like the folks hanging outside with guns on their hips and the fact I paid on booking and the hotel charged me as well. I'm still trying to get my money back

There were no roll in showers available
I love having a whole complete apartment for me and my family to spread out. Plus we got to cook breakfast instead of eating fast food. That was a big plus.

Very loud, smelled, and not like the photos online. The bathroom is very small. no counter space at all and the toilet is really short
