I was there a few months ago & stayed in a 3rd floor (newly renovated floor) & there were some issues then. This time we were back on 3rd floor but a different room. The receptionist said they were just starting renovation on 1st floor having completed 2 & 3. Our room had curtains that would not close & there was a clip on one that we were able to at least pull & clip to keep the light out. The bathroom had the most updated but was missing the interior trim around the door. It was very noticeable to the eye. There was also a partial roll of toilet paper sitting on the sink counter. No holder for it & not an extra roll under the sink. We are adults so we could reach it but a child would need help. Breakfast was open till 9:30 but when I went down at 9:05 almost every thing was gone & area cleaned. I asked the kitchen staff & was offered an oatmeal packet or whatever was left out. She was nice, not rude at all, but I was heading to Dr. & was hoping for a granola bar or fruit I could take with me. This happened last time too.

The blinds did not work properly and kids in the room next door were running, jumping and yelling but did quiet down at 10 p.m.

Check in was quick and efficient. Right blind clip was broken. Staff offered to send maintenance to our room first thing the next morning. We were able to get it closed without the bright outside light glaring in through the night.

Parking lot felt sketchy when arriving at night and most rooms do not have a view over the parking lot. The parking lot had lots of discarded toilets and other building materials sitting out, probably from their recent bathroom upgrades. Dirty, worn out hotel signage facing the street did not help the ambiance upon arrival. There was a very loud vent is the bathroom that ran 24/7 and could not be turned off. The bathroom door had to be kept shut at all times because of the noise. Condition of room felt worn out. Scratches and chips on furnishings. Small burn hole in comforter and worn out hole in sheet. No wall base in bed area, and uneven wall finish where previous adhesive for wall base was visible. Incomplete wall base in bathroom. Missing door frame on bathroom door. Residential grade anti-slip mat for shower that you had to roll out yourself. At breakfast biscuits were rock hard and gravy not tasty. Cereal was fine. Seating was either at oversized tables or in arm chairs hunching over a low coffee table. After deciding to throw away our food, we ate elsewhere.

The electronic card machine was down and I didn't have a entry card to my room. So the staff had to let me in and every time I left the building. However it was fixed the next day.

I really appreciated the friendly staff and the room accomodations. The hotel had a classic appeal to it. The location is excellent for groceries and restaurants.

We have stayed there other times and the service was not the best this time. I need an accessible room and i made the request when I reserved the room. When we got there we were told there were none available. After checking, the clerk said she found one. When we got to the room it wasn’t accessible. I didn’t want to change rooms so we kept it. Day 2 the key card reader went out. They had to open our door. We were told that the reader would not be fixed until Monday. This was Friday.

NO PLACE to put shampoo/soap etc in shower while showering! Absolutely no shelves! Even an out of shower shelf toward back of shower would be helpful! Couldn't even put the toilet lid down as there was No lid!!🤣😲🤣 1 little bar to hang 'a' hand towel ... otherwise absolutely no towel rods at all!! We like to help by conserving on laundry - but that is a difficult task w/no towel racks! Some electrical outlets did not work and the plate to the plug in in the bathroom was not fully secured. I did mention this to the front desk. Many of our USB Connections were NOT CHARGING ...Unless we were supposed to do something to get them to work!

Very clean facility, accommodating, w/an actual bar and a warm, do it yourself Breakfast is available downstairs! VERY CLOSE to our Downtown Destination and Unlimited possibilities for dinner out, shopping, grocery stores all w/in walking distance. Even found a Bath and Body less than 3 miles away ... Super location! Rm was clean and roomy! Cool retro effect w/old timey looking aqua fridge, a Keureg 'type' coffee pot and an antique looking phone - like the old rotary dial phones! Cute! Ohhh, mustn't forget about plugs and USB PLUGS on both sides of the headboards ... as well as conveniently located on walls where you fo not have to move furniture just to get to them!

There was a bit of noise due to remodeling 😖, but the new rooms look great 😃😃😃 beds are still a bit to hard for us. But I'm hoping maybe that next upgrade

The only problem we had (and wasn't a major problem) was the lighting in the room. They used to have a few lamps but due to the current renovations, they may have still been in the process of adding things to the rooms.

The staff was very nice and informative. The rooms were very clean and the TV was huge. Plenty of parking and the free breakfast was awesome. I always stay here when I come to Houston. My go to hotel when in the city.
