Loud screaming argument early morning 6 AM outside in parking lot and office 6/21. Woke everyone up. Went on for 20 minutes. Police should have been called as woman was obviously crazy. Possibly homeless. Not really hotel’s fault as Santa Cruz does have a homeless problem and perhaps police are not responsive. No towel racks in bathroom.

Breakfast ok, adequate not fabulous. Hot tub great. Excellent location. Room clean and new.

The beds were all so uncomfortable, hard, had trouble sleeping on them and got up with our back hurting. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and the mini blinds in the bedroom was missing blinds and broken.

The location was good, walking distance to the pier and the Beach.

the receptionist wasnt always there. seemed like other things were more important than customers. blood on one of the pillows. Raisins on the bed but we didn’t have any raisins. Musty smell near AC in the room.

Worst location i have ever seen of sny motel ANYWHERE in 46 years of travel .. Almost impossible to access and park. Howatd Johmsons should get out of tbis buildng asap.

The bathroom door was broken and it was noisy like someone was banging on something.

I like how close it was to the boardwalk. We did enjoy the hot tub. I also loved the mirror in the bathroom that had light around it

everything was good. location , property was clean , but the bed was really uncomfortable. I could hardly sleep. they were also very noisy in the morning while using leaf blowers. the breakfast was very good though. they have a waffle maker that made delicious waffles.

the bed was broken and I had booked for a king size bed with a balcony and I was put in a room with a patio and a full size bed my husband is a large man this was so uncomfortable I have never had to deal with this at this location I was very disappointed

Old motel that is not well maintained. Everything going a little trashy. Starting the washing machine at 5am is NOT a good idea ! Tiny not convenient parking lot.

Well located not far from downtown and the beach. Fair breakfast compared to worse ones ... Free parking.

It was frustrating that the housekeeping staff did not clean our room when we left for the morning/afternoon. We came back to have the baby take a nap then they showed up.

You cannot beat the location. And the rooms are huge

Tired hotel. Breakfast room doesn't open till 7 and when it did they couldn't find coffee cups. We were there for a race so that was a bit inconvenient.

We didn't appreciate the staff at all. This person was very rude to say the least. Every request we made was rejected in a very nasty tone. There was also a time the staff member left us standing at the desk. Just walked away. We were very displeased with the service.

We found the location to be wonderful. Very close to the board walk and local restaurants.

Laura, an employee at the Howard Johnson, made our stay! Her warmth and generosity exceeded all expectations and her willingness to help at any time made us feel super comfortable and at home. We will come back just for Laura!!

The cable Reception on the tv was bad. The tear on the carpet in the middle of the room was bad but hole in the in the shower facets was horrible. Pillows need to be upgraded a bit. Parking access was not easy.

The bed in the 1st bedroom was definitely NOT a QUEEN size bed. Despite that, the room was nice and comfortable. The 2nd room was only for one night... and it was incredibly cramped (and I paid more for it....which makes no sense at all!) The man at the front desk was not customer service oriented... As if check-in in was a hassle and asking for anything extra: blankets, pillows, ice (machine is broken)... seemed like an inconvenience.More than once, I would ring the bell and wait for 5+ minutes but nobody was there... and had to come back. Lastly, I asked for my receipt to be printed with my business name (as it was when booked... but he couldn't seem to figure it out.) I still need to contact the manager so hopefully they can just email it to me.

Room- The first 3 nights were great, in a nice sized room. Location- Centrally located to everything
