If I were to stay again for an extended time, it would be nice to get a pet fee discount. The $40 a night adds up, especially given that the hotel charge is already a bit pricey.

It was super convenient to have the dog-friendly (and nicely landscaped) outside area at Hummingbird Inn. It was also walking distance to a park, so many points for catering to canines! The reception area is very inviting, and I liked having the tea/coffee available in the morning.

Reception staff seemed nice enough but not very service-orientated (a bit off-hand) and when we ran into an issue where the toilet wouldn't flush, they just handed my friend a plunger rather than sending someone to help.

Just that the price was way to high for what the property is. Nothing over the top just average old room set ups but nicely decorated. With clean towels etc.

A major disappointment was not having complimentary coffee in the room. I couldn't believe they charged 4 dollars a cup for lousy instant coffee - absolute highway robbery. They do offer complimentary coffee in the lobby starting at 7am, but that was way too late for us and we prefer not having to leave the room for our first cup of coffee.

No table, no desk! One straight-back chair. No place to drink coffee, use the laptop - just the bed. See photo for space where table should be. Lighting is more like mood lighting than having much practical use. It would help to have a "packing light" - general illumination - option. Water pressure not great.

Room is spacious and recently remodeled. Fridge, microwave and teakettle included. Great!

We took the train/bus into Ojai so I didn't realize how far the Inn was from the main town center. It become a bit of an issue because of the heavy rains we experienced the first night and the fact that the sidewalk ends before you get to the Inn meaning for parts of your walk you're sharing the road with cars. Although the decor and staff were great, you could still tell used to be a motel, the bathroom was outdated. The sink was also outside of the bathroom. I picked the room with the small patio and while that was nice, the patio isn't secure and anyone walking past the Inn can access the patio.

The lobby and rooms looked just like the pictures. I enjoyed the new renovations and the minimalist decor. I really appreciated the service from the staff. She found out it was my birthday and gifted us a bottle of white wine which was very kind. The room was a decent size and the heater/AC worked well. Shower pressure and temperature were good.

Couldn't figure out the temperature control and it got hot at night but this is always a problem for me in hotels. The walk into town didn't have sidewalks the whole way.

Nice foam top mattress and pillows, room was well appointed. Appreciated the coffee available in lobby in the mornings. It is close to the main downtown, about a 10 min walk.

Hummingbird is a small hotel tucked right at the end of town, however don’t let that put you off! The interior decor of the reception area and the rooms were very well laid out, the choice of colours and materials for the furnishings, complemented the surroundings. All in all, beautiful.

Our room smelled very strongly of bleach or paint when we first arrived and it was hard to get the smell to dissipate, even with open windows for fresh air. We knew it was a sign of cleanliness, but it was a strong scent every time we walked in.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend exploring Ojai with family and were very happy we stayed at the Hummingbird Inn. The hotel is perfectly situated, our room was very spacious and clean, we were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the bed was, the renovated lobby space was cozy (especially the fireplace), and the coffee was excellent!

Bright pink light kept me awake much of the night- high on wall- fan? Still using plastic goodies for shampoo, etc that other hotels are no longer using to protect environment.

Cute and clean. Good parking. Communication before arriving was excellent. Able to address our needs (arriving one hour early). Friendly staff. Tub! Coffee in office!

I have been coming here for the last ten years. The recent and ongoing remodel of the rooms have much improved this location. Lovely rooms, at very reasonable rates, make the Hummingbird a place to consider when staying in Ojai. Also, a very friendly and helpful staff.

Small suggestion: get a bigger teapot for hot water in the main room, with a bigger selection of tea. Rooms need better lighting, but I guess that will come with the Reno.

Great bed and linens (the most important things in a hotel). Quiet rooms. Nothing fancy. Terrific location in town.
