Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location is calm, clean and silent. It is close to Santa Monica Boulevard and better that the pier side entrence. Room was pretty big and clean. Room service is fast.

I think the plunge pool should be a little better advertised as we only found out about it when we were leaving, which was disappointing as the only thing missing from our stay was a swimming pool to enjoy. Also, the valet parking (although nice) is an unusual experience for British people who aren’t used to this and I did feel a little rushed at times to get out of the car and to unpack the bags on arrival. I would have preferred an option to park it myself.
The staff on reception were excellent! So friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond! Daniel on reception was so kind and gave recommendations to us, such a warm welcome! Also, there is a little treasure chest in reception for the children to chose a little toy from and it made my two children SO happy! They were so excited each day to look inside and it made their stay for them.

We had a slight issue within our room, however it was addressed appropriately and professionally.
Very friendly staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay. Top shelf service.

I was expecting the room to have a full ocean view, but it was more like a bit of ocean and more of city view. other than that, nothing to complain.
Amazing view from the rooftop.The hotel was very clean. Very fair minibar prices. There is a little coffee inside which has a good variety for breakfast and snacks for the day. The hotel also provides bicycles. Such a lovely addition for a stay on a beach hotel!

It's very hard to find a parking spot in the area, so you have to book the parking of the hotel, which is pretty expensive. But the parking service was great.
Great location in Santa Monica. We liked the room and the polite staff. Can only recommend!

Slow service in the restaurant and high prices compared to the quality of meals. Not bad but nothing you will remember.

Comfortable place, great location across the street from the water, very nice staff, nice design in the rooms, quiet (as long as there’s not a strike going on at the hotel next-door), and good value for the money for LA. I always enjoy my stay here.

Parking 55$. Bad sound insulation of windows, too much noise from ouside ( lived in 7th floor).

The now passé room design touches, think ironic 60’s bling is dated already, but not big deal for me.
I’ve stayed several times at the Huntley. Always works for me. Rooms in every category are generously sized and impeccably clean. I appreciate having a proper work space in the room and good storage. Comfortable beds, good linens and outlets everywhere. For me, a pool and a grand lobby is not necessary, so the Huntley fits the bill. I grew up locally and like to be close to Montana Avenue shops and restaurants.

The day we arrived I had to go for a procedure at UCLA So the whole day was gone. However next morning was able to have breakfast with my wife at the Penthouse. Went for a stroll and checkout at 11.45. So really a short stay
