To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When we left we waited for him to get us a taxi - which never happened- and we managed to get one ourselves by running out in to the rain and waive……

United States of AmericaThe bathroom door in our room didn't lock. With them being sliding doors, the little ones were obviously attracted to it. That led to some squished pickys and some not so private bathroom breaks. You will have to walk a bit for historical attractions, but we didn't mind so much. Also, the refrigerator in the room not working was a bummer.
Our stay was very pleasant, I only gave an 8 because the refrigerator in our room wasn't keeping drinks cold at all, and was leaking water on the floor. I told the front desk, and as pleasant as the gentleman behind the desk was, he said he would have someone right up to fix it. But no one ever showed. So we did go with warm beverages in 80-degree weather for 2 days. But the pool was one of the nicest pools we've seen in a hotel, very refreshing and clean. Also, the staff was amazing, like they actually enjoyed their job, which was also very refreshing. Wide variety for breakfast, something for everyone. We have little kiddos, and they had a great time. Definitely recommend.

IrelandThere is very little around this area at nighttime, so you will need to travel if you require bars, restaurants and entertainment. However there is plenty of choice with transportation with the metro and buses close by.
The bedroom was exceptionally big with a very comfortable bed. There was very little noise from outside and the facilities within the room were excellent. There was also a large and very clean bathroom. The breakfast was very good with a good choice of food. The breakfast area was kept very clean and food dishes were constantly replenished when emptied. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Marie on reception who went out of her way to assist us on a number of occasions. It’s 10 minutes walk to the nearest metro station, which brings you directly to the Washington Mall and Capitol Building. There are a number of restaurants and cafes nearby but you need to go further afield for a better selection.

The view from the cheapest room is awful (whole room exposed to an abandoned office) but it didn't bother us because we didn't came to Washington to stay in a hotel.
Our 4-day stay in Washington was easier thanks to Hyatt Place. We enjoyed staying there. It is located close to the metro, Georgetown which is amazing for evenings and about 20 minutes on foot from the White House.

AustraliaMy credit card was overcharged by USD 670 (day 1 charge + tax charge in addition to the full amount charge) but the reception staff were unhelpful to resolve the matter. Even though I showed the transactions listed on the credit card they were unwilling to help. Very disappointing response from the reception staff. I had to call Booking.com helpline and lodge a complaint and subsequently the charges were corrected/rectified.
Large room with lounge area and work space. The room overlooked the M Street with a view of the street. Excellent breakfast and comfortable stay. The hotel is walking distance to Dupont Station and other places of interest in DC.

United KingdomBreakfast could have been a bit better, not much choice of food. I was only here for 3 nights but if you stay a week you would get sick of eating every morning the same food, no variety of jam or different eggs style but loved the peanut butter small tab. The hotel was new but at times not that clean, the lift had marks on the floor for 2 days, my room was not cleaned the first night, we had some towels changed, the pillows and blanket were properly done but in the evening when we were about to go to bed we found out the sheet under the blanket was not done, it was creased up just the way we left it in the morning, bins still had rubbish. Also the fridge was really noisy at night, I had to unplug cause I couldn't sleep.
Location was fantastic. The cleaning lady at breakfast was really nice, always smiling and she works really hard. Maybe it would be a good to get an extra person to help her out, specially when the hotel its really busy like Easter weekend. Overall I did enjoy my stay but a few small things and it would have been perfect.

the rooms are very spacious and the beds are very comfortable. the location right in foggy bottom / west end is great - you can walk to Georgetown for dinner! the cleaning staff were diligent, which we appreciated
