Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We only stayed two days and one night. No negative comments.
We loved that the location was close to the aquarium, seaport and the Olde Mistick Village. Loved that our family of six were placed on the first floor right near the pool entrance. The highlight of the breakfast was that there were two waffle makers. Places usually only have one and the line is always out the door. Also, was cute that they had a flying airplane game in the lobby. Made it unique to the experience.

Bathroom was small. It was hard to open and close the door with toilet being too close to the threshold. The kitchenette didn't have any flatware or herbal tea available. No notepad, pen, Bible or lotion included with the room.

Beds were too soft. Walls are thin. We could hear the kids on the adjacent room playing and talking until very late.

The only downside was some kind of Wi-Fi issue blocking Wi-Fi Calling feature on my phone. That was strange since it worked everywhere else – at the airports and other hotels, including two Hyatt Places, but not at Mystic.
Overall a great stay.

Fitness center was very small and missing weights. When we arrived pipes had burst so there was a significant amount of time before we could bathe.

Elevator interior dirty and banged up but likely due to the renovation. Should have a note in the elevator indicating this.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was too firm!
The continental breakfast was good, the staff was friendly, and the room was spacious and clean. The location great. I highly recommend The Mystic Diner & Restaurant and Mango's wood-fired pizza. Both only a couple minutes drive.

There was a musty smell in the room, that permeated our clothing. We immediately washed them when we arrived home. Hopefully, this shortcoming will soon be eliminated. At this point I am extremely hesitant about staying there again.
Breakfast and location were excellent. Staff were very gracious.

Too many mirrors, toilet door opens too tight (can’t close door while sitting on toilet), location very close to a cemetery.
Very large spacious room, great staff, easy check-in/out, lots of parking. Lots of amenities (microwave, mini fridge, AC, breakfast)

My only complaint is that the breakfast area was a bit cramped, and there were no labels for a lot of the food, but overall breakfast was good.
Check in was a breeze, staff was very attentive and kind, facilities were very clean and the location is perfect.

Only one comment. There should be outlets and charging ports on both sides of the bed. Otherwise we wouldn't change a thing.
Hotel was clean and well appointed. The staff were like old friends. Exceptionally pleasant helpful and fun to talk to. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Lovely sitting area outside to enjoy. Breakfast was very good. Something for everyone. We had cocktails at the bar in the evening. Even if we hadn't taken advantage of the local attractions, we would have enjoyed our stay. The location was quite convenient to all we wished to do. The convenience of fridge microwave and wet bar area was great

Everything was good but I didn't find the mattress as comfy as other places I've stayed at.
The breakfast was abundant. I've been to hotels where it's very scarce and no bacon. Appreciated the nice breakfast. The room was really nice with the sitting area/couch, spacious. The people were incredibly friendly. I loved that there was a Dippin Dots. I didn't get a chance to eat one but it made me happy since I love them and did plan on getting one if time permitted.
