Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaAnother light source was missing from the room, it was quite dark but this is only a minor detail. We had dinner at Melvyn's which was excellent as were the martinis in the Casablanca lounge but the 'Mel's breakfast' was disappointing and poor value as it was bereft of a number of key items so we dined next door at the sister holtel, Avalon, and it was a great breakfast.
Very friendly and accomodating staff. The place was spotless. Tea and coffee provided in the morning as well as water provided during all hours was a nice touch.

Switzerlandthe property is historic but the rooms are just old and not in good shape, not super maintained. considering this, the prices are WAY too high. the front desk staff on arrival was very unfriendly, no help with guiding you in the dark to the parking area or helping you find your room, and no help with luggage either (up several stairs).
beautiful property, very quiet rooms and nice secluded and enjoyable pool area. on-site restaurant was wonderful. bathrooms are nice with great aesop products.

United States of AmericaMelvyn's Restauarnt. We were told that we would still be served by the time we arrived. After the bar tender kept ignoring us and preferred talking to other guests, he told us we were too late by the time was done talking and no food would be served anymore. He & the receptionist at Melvyn's were quite unfriendly too.
Nice room (although it was a bit dark) w/ small patio. We also liked the pool & the estate in general.

United States of AmericaGiven that we went for Thanksgiving, my impression is that they were a little light on staff when it came to breakfast and pool side food/drinks, which took a long time. However, everyone was always very polite and eager to make up. I do think the $100 fee for bringing a dog is a little bit too much. The website states it comes with dog bowl(s), a bed, blankets and a snack, but we had to ask for all of that ourselves. I would suggest the property would prepare that in the room for future guests (if they communicate up front, like we did)
Ingleside Inn provided us with a wonderful experience! We were able to check in early, had a large open room with a wonderful private patio and the amenities (pool, complimentary bicycles,...) were a great plus! We had Thanksgiving dinner at Melvyn's and it was superb. All breakfast and pool side snacks I believe are also coming from Melvyn's which did not once disappoint in our 3 day stay!

CanadaWe booked the resort as an 'adult only' hotel, as advertised on the website. Unfortunately, there were 3-4 families during half our trip. We love kids but were expecting peace and quiet. It's wrong for hotels to charge for water in rooms.
Ingleside Inn was exactly as we expected. Very Chill, old school elegance. The rooms are very comfortable considering the age of the facility. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, great service.
