To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe bathroom was a horrible attempt at a remodel. The shower enclosure was this one piece small plastic unit, cheap indeed, with a glass door that opened inward. It was hard to get into without feeling unsteady on your feet as the floor was slippery and wet. There was also remnants of dry wall chunks in the space of the corners of the door joist where it meets the carpet, just tacky. But even with all of that, the most disappointing part was as we were leaving and checking out, there was no "thank you", "how'd you like your stay?", "come back", or "hope to see you again" NOTHING! The clerk(whom you could tell this was probably a family owned hotel) was just like "leave your key in the box" and that was it! Sometimes the way someone makes you feel is what's lasting more than anything else!
The bedroom was standard for the price, sheets were comfortable although both beds had ink stains on the sheets, weird!
