To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaNo breakfast and more pillows on the bed would be nice. Also, we tried to do some ironing, but both ironing boards that we got were broken. We ended up using the table and a towel instead. Also, our room did not have a coffee maker in it.
The location is why we chose this hotel. It is fairly basic but did what we needed. The rates seemed a little high for the type of hotel this is and considering there are many choices in the vicinity.

We like everything about it. The room was very big and spacious. When arriving I received a warm welcome and I was asked if I had pets and I said yes I called and spoke to a gentleman about it. He said yes it’s $5 a pet fee per night. I said okay no problem.

United States of America-there was no battery in the smoke alarm (we knew because the battery door was standing open) -the mattress was hard -the pillows were super thin -the toilet seat was going sideways -the microwave had mold -the room had a very strong perfume/incense smell which bothered my allergies -our king room was given away and we were given a double queen room on the second floor instead

United States of AmericaThe air freshener fragrance was too strong. It overwhelmed us each time we walked in the room. The wifi was weak and regularly timed out. This would not be the place to get any work done if you need to use the wifi. Also, when shown two rooms to choose from one of them had a refrigerator with rust all over the front. I chose the other room as I couldn't stand to look at that refrigerator! The room we got only had a little rust on the front of the refrigerator. There is not much in the kitchen (1 bowl, 1 lg. plastic cup, 1 fork). I had seen this in a review before coming, so I brought cereal bowls, mugs, etc. from home. There was a coffee maker with coffee, but no tea. I noticed that the sheets on the bed were quite worn & faded, but they were comfortable. The bedside lamp was rusty. The rusty items need to be replaced with new, or refinished!
We got a choice of rooms when we arrived. That was nice. The beds were comfortable. The AC worked. It was clean. There was hot water for a shower or bath. Soap and shampoo were provided. There was a hair dryer. We were able to park right in front of our room. The area was quiet. The man who checked us in was very friendly.

United States of AmericaThe lobby and front desk seemed to always be locked up so not easy to ask a question. We stayed 4 nights.
There was no breakfast but that was already known. Grocery stores and restaurants were not far. The toaster and microwave worked fine. But thought they might have a few things in the kitchen cabinets like plates (even a few paper plates would have been nice and some paper towels.) The cupboards only had 1 bowl, 1 tumbler, 2 forks, 3 spoons and 2 very large serving spoons. There was also a coffee maker but we don't drink coffee. The maids were very sweet but didn't seem to have a full understanding of English. This room had been redone with new vinyl floors. The AC was quiet. The bathroom fixtures all appear new as well as new tile on the floor. Shower worked great. The full size fridge is older but worked well. The bed and pillows slept well.

According to signage in the room, that whole section was smoke-free and did not allow pets. The gentleman who checked us in was very polite and offered to accommodate our previously-noted preference, as best he could; but all that was available ground level was one bed. On 2nd thought, we should have taken that.

United States of AmericaThe first room I was in wouldn’t lock. Management was kind enough to give me another room. The first room had a lot of maintenance issues in addition to the door lock: shower faucet handles were loose and couldn’t control water temperature, the air conditioner was rattling, the hair dryer and one ceiling light didn’t work. The second room was much better! No real problems except you could hear people walking/playing upstairs.
