This was such a great place! My mom and I had a cabin across the marina.

The comforter, curtains and mattress are woefully outdated and cause a musty odor about the place. I did notice the oven and fridge had rust on them, but that's not a big deal. The sheets were clean but I didn't go near the torn, old comforter. I got some candles to ease the smell, but the place was not dirty, it was very clean :)

I loved the vintage feel, the fact that many generations lived and worked there. It has a charm about the place and of course a small town feel. We even had a friendly rooster come inside our cabin to say hello, I had to laugh :) I can say the sheets, pillow cases and towels were very clean! There is a kitchen with cooking supplies. The lodge was pretty and outside it were many places to sit and watch the pretty fog roll in...

They don’t provide enough stuff for more than an overnight stay. We ran out of toilet paper, towels, and trash bags very quickly. The deck was not cleaned off from foliage so you couldn’t enjoy the full deck.

The Kentucky State Park system needs to invest in capital improvements. My room showed signs of age. Some of the structures, such as the large swimming pool, are also showing some decay.

Good bar, food and service! Beautiful scenery, especially with the leaves turning color. The fond memories I had from 40+ years ago were not let down.

NO AIR CONDITIONER it did not work and no one fixed it while we were there. The ICE MAKER was broken as well. Not enough utensils such as pots pans needed a flat cookie sheet to cook some things in oven. Bathtub was nasty dirty when we arrived They offered us a one bedroom for Friday night and then a two bedroom for Saturday night but we did not want to pack up everything three times to move to other cabins so I was very disappointed about that

After staying at other state parks, this was somewhat of a let down when it came to first impressions. The front desk staff were somewhat clueless upon our arrival. Our room was supposed to be ready at 4pm. We were told it’d be another 30 minutes but an hour goes by and when going back up to the desk, the girl, who was apparently preoccupied with watching TikTok videos, completely forgot about which room she even put us in and asked us for the room number when we didn’t even know yet. Charging 129 per night for a “cottage” and pulling up to a duplex is kind of off putting. The landline phone in cottage 305 didn’t even work so we couldn’t contact the main office for help or anything unless we used our cellphones that barely had service. The cellphone signal was definitely something we already knew. We also had to go through the entire place to just figure out which Wi-Fi we could connect to because the name on the door was completely wrong. We even had to go buy our own toilet paper and extra pillows for our stay, luckily there was a dollar general up the road.

The location was absolutely incredible with such beautiful scenery. The lake was absolutely stunning. the pontoon rentals at the marina were the best part of the whole stay.

Our room was on the first floor, and we could hear every footstep made by the people above us. some of the grout in the tile around the bathtub appeared to be moldy. Slight musty smell noticed in the room.

The cabins are connected to each other and my neighbor wasn't the best

We had dinner at the lodge. It was a special Thanksgiving buffet. The advertised price was $16.95 each 2 adults were charged 43 and change it was overpriced. The food was average at best and the cheesecake desert was served warm I was sick after eating. Had eaten there several times previously and was disappointed.

The musty smell. But it was fine as we were in the woods and next to the water. We bought Lysol and sprayed down really well and went on with our stay.

The cabin we stayed in was perfect for us as my mother is elderly and their were no stairs for her. So I rebooked cabin 409 for next year as we are excited to return.

Parking was scary where our cabin was. However, everyone was polite in moving cars. No place to swim but the pull offs were adequate.

Fun for kids, very friendly staff, restaurant food was excellent. We always got towels which was very important with 7 kids!

I did not like that the back door had no curtains on it. I like my privacy and the thought of someone seeing me without me being able to see them makes me uncomfortable.

I liked that it was a cabin with separate bedrooms so each of us could have our own bed. The staff are very friendly.

Ok, no phone in my room. Tried to order breakfast and could not get an answer. Tried for an hour, then located a staff member. She said that she would find out what the problem was. Half hour later and not hearing anything, I went to the make-shift office, because the main office, bar and restaurant was close due to renovation and could be closed for a year......WHAT? did not know that?? The staff in the office was able to get the restaurant and was able to place my order and was told it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We ended up getting our breakfast 45 minutes later. It was not cold, nor hot. Only was given forks...no knives to use to cut food or spread butter or jelly...very little condiments.....don't think they restaurant is very well prepared for room to room service only??

Location....really nice, peaceful, pretty scenery and staff was very friendly and helpful. Like they accept pets, since we have a dog.
