Breakfast was tasty but needed protein so we were glad we were able to substitute eggs for the waffle. Although one of us did have the waffle & it was excellent. Great coffee too. Beds were very comfortable & rooms were very clean.

    The clothes hanger's

Everything was great. Karin the night manager was terrific. She was attentative and very pleasant. The only thing I was disappointed in, was the hanger's in the closet. I understand why they have hangers like that, but there are better solutions. Clothing bars with the "catch" half of the hanger mounted on it, and the slip part of the other half of the hanger to "re-catch" onto the "catch" once you've placed your shirts, blouse or pants. Not very well explained. That way you can remove the hanger from the closet, place your clothing on the hanger and place it back in the closet. That's my only recommendation. I would personally hire every every employee I encountered if I had a need to represent my hotel in a very positive manner.

We knew ahead of time but in case you don’t do your homework as we did be aware many places closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

We went midweek so it was quiet as we like it. The location was perfect and walking distance to some museums and restaurants and brewery and Julian Pie Shop. We stayed in the Honeymoon House which was private and very cute room. Breakfast was amazing. The staff was super friendly and nice.

This time the breakfast was a terrible choice for a diabetic person or any one really!! Sweet Cereal then waffles with fruit. Given that it’s bed & breakfast, it should’ve included some protein (eggs or so).

Everything historic and rustic! but especially the secret drawer society book was a fun addition!

Construction, floor uneven in room 16, uneven step to and from the bathroom. I fell and hit the iron bed, my. Right arm is badly bruised.

Fantastic, the staff were professional very friendly. Very accommodating as I have food allergies. Lovey feeling of the past.

    Can't think of a thing.

The rooms were clean and done up beautifully. A nice change of pace was that they let you pick your room. Each is decorated differently, the bathrooms are not the same in each room, and the view out the window is different. Don't expect a TV in your room. It was our first time in a B&B. It was nice not having a TV for distraction and stress. When our exploring Julian was done, we went back to the hotel and played games that were set up in the lounge/dining room. It was a wonderful, relaxing, get away from the stress of it all. The staff were fantastic.

    bathroom is small.

Stuff are very friendly. Breakfast are awesome. Served like restaurant style. There are coffee, cereal, yogurt, toast and fresh fruits etc. The whole build is a historical site, so the bathroom is very smal. Room is very clean, bed is very comfortable. it was probably the best hotel sleep I had in the past few years. We liked the common area with all the books, board games and the room decorations.

The rooms are very small and you could only access bed from 2 sides. I understand there is nothing that can be done about this but if I were the owner, I would have the price match this inconvenience-- maybe charge 50 bucks less a night

Beautiful period hotel with rooms, and common area wonderfully preserved with impeccable attention to detail .

The room was small and had a step down into the room so we had to always be careful not to trip. Too much decor for my taste.

The breakfast was great and the dining room setting was very authentic. The wood burning stove and the lobby sitting room was so comfortable. Staff was very helpful in suggesting restaurants. Bed was comfortable.

The room was extremely small , and the lighting was very dim . It was a bit tricky to use the in room heater , because it was located near the floor and there wasn’t enough light to read the words to operate it

The door knob on bathroom door was very loose to the point of almost falling off. The hot water took a very long time to get hot. A hair dryer in room would be appreciated, but we were able to get one from the front desk.

Breakfast was very good. Location is excellent.

    Everything was perfect! Seriously.

We stayed in the hotel back in the late 1980s and loved it. Wonderful memories. Staying again, in 2024, we were extremely impressed that nothing seemed to have changed. Amazing. A step back in time. 👍

Was our first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast. Rooms are pretty small. Breakfast is on the healthier side and different from what we expected. (expected typical breakfast offerings of eggs, toast, pastries, bacon, etc.) No housekeeping during stay. Bathroom not fit for taller people.

Staff were super friendly! Tea and coffee offered majority of the time which we appreciated. Plenty of puzzles to keep you busy when the town closes.
