Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location was near great restaurants and shopping. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Parking the car and entrance obscure. GPS takes you to a one way street. Need to say GO AROUND TO THE BACK of the hotel. We literally double parked and schlepped our bags up the front steps. Only missed directive was important after a long drive.
Great vibe. Nice bar. Lobby welcoming and happy hour a nice touch.

Need instructions on how to work the thermostat. Front desk was really helpful & talked us through it.

All was wonderful including the politeness and attentiveness of the cleaning professionals. The front area people were attentive, friendly, insiteful and helpful in every way. The valets were great. Breakfast wonderful. I really enjoyed the location of my room. The little happy hour fit the bill and certainly the dog friendliness of the hotel added to the overall charming ambience. Arras definitely was a major plus for my stay in Asheville.

Hotel was really nice and the staff amazing! We went with out small dog and he was greeted with a goody bag. Location is excellent. Best hotel we’ve stayed at.

I booked a mountain view room but got a city view room. I would have preferred the option to be able to self park instead of having to pay for valet. I had asked housekeeping to leave me extra qtips on a note where I had left tip for the person.. The staff member took the money and read the note but didn't bother to bring me qtips. I had to ask the front desk for it. Not having a computer or being able to print out things seemed odd, given the hotel looks fairly new.
It was right in the middle of downtown. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The reverse osmosis water on each floor was great, and I liked how you had to use your key card to get to your floor. This helped make it feel more secure. The front desk and valet staff were very helpful and friendly.

No disappointments.
Excellent location to downtown Asheville. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was very clean and updated. Restaurant & Bar were very good. I would stay here again!

The young gentleman, who checked us in, was a sweetheart. What attention to detail when we shared it was our 15th wedding anniversary. Every single encounter with hotel staff (valet, door greeter, front desk, restaurant, bar and lovely housekeeping staff) was pleasant. This was our first stay at a Kimpton and we will certainly return to this location. Kudos!

Too many pets in the hotel lobby.
We had an issue with water on the floor behind the toilet. Management promptly moved us to a suite, gave us free breakfast, and a coupon for the hotel bar.

First time at the bar the guy added 20% tip at the bill without my consent after I gave him cash. About parking there is only valet available and at checkout my car had a damage on the passenger side (about $2.000) and they didn't even tell me, I realized when I stopped at the gas station nearby

The only odd thing was the design of the bathroom sink and hardware...the faucet is way too long and the bowl too shallow, which made using the sink a challenge. Otherwise flawless design throughout.
Extraordinary bargain for the holidays. Exceptional view, amazing design of this repurposed business building that sat empty only to become a standout hotel and condos. Stylish, perfect location, really fun staff who clearly take pride in their work and keeping guests happy. One of the best hotel experiences in the US. Can't wait to return.
