To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

When they got us in the correct "double room" is was clean and MUCH better. The morning waffles were good, no bacon, coffee was weak.

Property was located close to UAB which is what we needed. No reservation in the system and desk clerk wouldn’t accept confirmation email from booking.com or from LaQuinta because the LaQuinta email didn’t have a confirmation number. Also wouldn’t honor the price that was listed on emails

Muddy foot tracks throughout the hotel, scuffs and dirt on all the doors, door handle to bathroom didn’t lock without some fiddling and force, key card randomly stopped working halfway through our stay and one of the staff members were taking away breakfast items that we were currently using and she didn’t speak at all and was a bit rude.
Loved the breakfast spread. Grits, oats, apples, juices, coffees, bagels, toast, cereals and waffles. Loved the receptionist. She was so gracious and sweet and easy to talk to.

United States of AmericaThe doors and hallway were so dirty it was almost shocking. This is the first thing people see! There were people hanging around by the entrance smoking and listening to loud music which made us very uncomfortable. The clerk gave us a key with room number 224 on it. After walking all over the second floor (my husband and I are both handicapped and can hardly walk) we came to realize that there was no such room. I had to walk all the way back to the front desk only to find that the clerk wrote the wrong number on the key. It was very difficult and I was in a lot of pain after doing all of that.
I liked the bathroom, it was spacious and easy to get into and out of. The shower was great and the bed was comfortable. I also liked the chairs, it was nice to have someplace comfortable to sit down.
