To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaA little run down in maintenance. My bathroom faucet had a constant small stream of hot water. Unable to shut it off. The door to the stairwell got stuck on the carpet so was hard to open.
I like the location and the bed was very comfortable which to me is the most important thing.

United States of AmericaWe came into the room finding a broken wall drain cover in the shower/bath that didn't drain properly. The toilet ended up getting plugged the next day. One of the towels had dirt or dust on it. There wasn't a lightbulb in one of the lamps next to the beds. The end table was dirty too. We didn't like that the hotel seemed to be struggling on getting what they needed for the job.
We like the pet-friendly aspect and how quick it was to check in with our service animal. The beds were comfortable. We liked the mini fridge and microwave because it allowed us options. It was a place to stay for a night since we needed to stop on our journey across the country. We told maintenance about the room issues the next day when we checked out and they went up right away to try and fix it so hopefully it got fixed. The cleaning and maintenance staff members were trying to get ahold of the front desk person for us to check out which was not fast, but apologized for the wait and claimed she was trying to deal with housekeeping since they didn't have everything that housekeeping needed for the job.

United States of Americapillows in the bedroom, felt lumpy and stiff. difficult getting comfortable to sleep. Bathroom door to shower had difficulty shutting. Base of bathtub had cracks in it. Bathroom tub, while showering had evident water damage, and I slightly felt like I was stepping on a waterbed. The website advertise free breakfast however, that was disappointing because everything they offered was no different than what I could get at a Kwik star gas station. I was expecting for breakfast at least something similar to bagels, eggs sausage some type of waffles anything like that. Instead, it was a lot of pre-packaged breakfast items, fresh fruit, and the cereal dispenser didn’t work very well. The orange juice in the dispenser tasted nasty.

United States of AmericaIt was very very loud all night… mostly other guests slamming doors, people yelling at each other, dogs barking. The staff did not seem very attentive to the noise, and also, we went to the front desk at five minutes before checkout and had to wait 20 minutes for anyone to come back to the desk and help us. It was a little weird to only have two towels and three pillows too.
