Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

TV was not that easy to work, but we watched Netflix and all was good! If I would have had my passwords we could have seen more.
The atmosphere was so inviting. Everything was so clean!

This small motel was a very pleasant surprise. It is in a quiet location and has been recently remodeled. The interior space is beautifully upgraded with wood finishes, nice linens and a comfortable bed. the motel was nearly full the night we were there but it was very quiet. There is a bakery conveniently located across the street and a couple of other restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely stay there again but I have a feeling it has been discovered and will fill up every night.

The property was exceptionally clean and the cabin-style decor was very inviting. Check-in and out was super easy and the assistant manager who was working when I checked in was both helpful and charming.

Very clean, beds very comfortable, loved the pillows too. Very nice shower. Coffee was delicious. Checking in and out was so convenient. They provide a code, so easy! Definitely would stay there again. Very quiet area too which was nice.

I have absolutely no idea why this place had no guests. This is an amazing property. The rooms were huge. The linens were perfect. The towels were perfect. Everything was perfect. Even the theme and what it was. Trying to present was perfect. This is an amazing property. It definitely should be more crowded than it is.

Paying our bill was beyond frustrating, booking. com made it very confusing and hard to pay when we got there! It took every day we stayed to get it figured out!

this isn't a bad thing, just funny...this property is next door to a long stay motel and our maps sent us to the next door property which isn't nearly as nice as this one...we were so relieved that this property (the correct one) was even nicer than the photos (once we got to the right spot!!)
what a pleasant surpise! this place is cozy, cute, and SUPER comfortable! they've thought of everything and I have to give the bed and bedding 10 stars!! WOW! We will be back. We didn't meet any staff, but we appreciated the simple check in and out!!

It is a little tight to get to the toilet.So I would not recommend this room if you are in the fluffy size.

the bed is almost too soft and the room was quite humid but those are minor issues!
The hostess was amazing and so welcoming! the room was clean and had everything I needed and tons of room. the coffee was amazing! you should sell it!

Right next to highway, so could hear a little noise (but less than expected). Could also hear a lot other noises, like person snoring next door, AC units going on/off, refrigerator hum, etc.. Also the room smelled of cleaning supplies strongly (I am sensitive so may not affect others).
Nicely upgraded lodge styled motel. Great waterfall shower.

They don’t serve breakfast, no manager, no ice machine, had to take out own garbage, no table, 1 chair, futon uncomfortable. Bathroom so tiny had to squeeze between the bathroom sink to get to the commode.
