Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaFYI there is no paid parking, and all the parking in the area is pretty much 2-hour parking, so we did have to move our car a couple of times. But it was no real issue and you save parking garage fees! The shower took a long time to get hot.
Booked this place at the last minute and was so happy that we did. The bed was comfy, the courtyard was lovely (and so was the pool), staff were friendly and helpful. It's a great value in the area while not being too deep in the loud parts of the French Quarter.

Lamothe House Hotel is an amazing historic house on the edge of the French Quarter. It is beautiful but a little run-down and about to close for a month for renovations. The location is great - near Frenchman’s Street - and on Esplanade St which is green and shady. Comfortable beds, good staff but needs many minor fixes!

United States of AmericaI would invest in a proper front desk arraingement. The room where the check in is located has an echo issue, this in no way affects the accomodations. I think the staff would appreciate a front desk set up comparable to other hotels.
Location is very good for all things French Quarter. Parking is fenced and gated directly adjacent to the property. I was charged $40 per day for parking. The main building on Esplanade is the historic property with an interior courtyard seen in the promo pics. There are shotgun houses across the street from the main parcel at the backstreet.

United States of AmericaI love a Historic hotel and expect some aspects to be rustic, old. This place really needs some help. The bones are there but She needs to be gutted and redone in many aspects. My bathroom was almost a deal breaker. Thankfully, I was ok with about everything else. The bath was Cramped and had NO PLACE to put your toiletries. The fixtures were AWFUL as well. Shower (pressure and heat) was one of the best I've had in the Quarter though.
Location was great. Available gated parking. Bed was comfortable. Shower was fantastic. Staff was amazing.

United States of AmericaThere was nothing I didn't like but I would suggest a blackout curtain for the doorway between bedroom and entrance way, it gets bright in the morning and room needs a little fridge.
The location was exactly where I liked to be, the charm of the room, clean and comfortable.

CanadaA mini fridge would have been nice. Very quiet except for some noise(talking moving) coming from vents connecting next room. Nothing outrageous. Some rooms are across the street from main hotel. Entrance is a gate. I felt safe but might not be for everyone.
Location was excellent! Minutes to Frenchman St and the French Quarter. Hotel entrance and courtyard were vintage New Orleans. Reception was accommodating, luggage storage, information, taxi. Quiet street, private entrance. My room was spacious, clean, coffee machine, toiletries. AC worked well.

United States of AmericaGiven it’s an older property you can hear everything in the hotel, but given the other guests aren’t loud it’s really not an issue and a trade off for staying somewhere unique

FranceNo breakfast, but typical bakery and breakfast places close by, so not a big issue.
Lamothe House is the very first place we landed in when we arrived in NOLA and it was just the perfect depiction of what I had of the city in my head! The building is beautiful, very thoughtfully decorated, super charming. It screams history! I love it, and the staff has been very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect: it's very quiet and at the same time walking distance from all the night life we were looking for (tones of live music in a 10 minute walk radius). Highly recommended!

United KingdomAbsolutely Nothing.
This hotel is housed in an old New Orleans property with wrought iron balconies. As original as it gets. The rooms are at the rear in a 'chalet' type configuration. Very quiet, very private. Amazingly there is a small pool. Parking is either on the street at the rear ( there is a rear gate ) or across the road in a gated hotel car park which is chargeable. We used that for the rental car. Location is perfect. Out the front entrance and Bourbon Street is 500 yards away. Out the rear entrance and there are two excellent places for breakfast. Ruby Slipper Cafe we visited twice. La Mothe is a hidden gem. A relaxing change from the run of the mill characterless "Chain" hotels.
