Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaAir conditioning/fan was a little loud when it kicked on, but the weather was cooler, so we didn't need it.
Great location. Close enough to Broadway without the Times Square crowds. A two- minute walk from Grand Central. Staff was exceptionally friendly. The rooftop bar was great, as was the reading room, where you could grab coffee and snacks. My back is all kinds of messed up, but the bed was very comfortable, and I woke up without any pain. My daughter is a bookworm and loved the Neil Armstrong Junior Suite. The pullout sofa was perfect for her (she's on the smaller side and 12 years old).

United States of AmericaMany of the perks previously there are gone. The wine and cheese in the late afternoon was nice. We recall more choices if only simple ones for breakfast. The onsite restaurant Madison &Vine is wildly inconsistent. My spouse had to send back her food twice on one occasion. We won’t dine there ever again.
We have stayed there several times and always found the staff pleasant and helpful. The location in midtown near Grand Central is a big plus. The rooms are clean and quiet. The rooftop bar is fun also.

ItalyNo coffee machine in the room, the bed was quite small for 2 people but understandable in a small room in the city centre, the bar and lounge were closed for private events for quite a few days of our trip. Rooms are quite old without power outlets near both sides of the bed.
Lovely boutique hotel in a great location for sightseeing and generally having good accessibility to all neighbourhoods we wanted to visit via Grand Central. Comfortable rooms given the location. The lounge was a great space to spend time in given the rooms were small, the tea, coffee and snacks and quiet space was a great additional space to be able to use. Friendly and helpful staff as well and good housekeeping.

United KingdomWe were given a petite room which was far too small and not suitable for a couple. The room was only really big enough for a single occupant. There was very little storage room so we both felt really cramped. We had stayed at the hotel a few years ago and were given a larger room so I hadn’t realised that I could be allocated such a small room. I will definitely ask for a larger room when I come back, which I will!
Beautiful hotel and very well maintained.

United States of AmericaThe beds were not comfortable. And the air conditioning was not available to be put on, in the month of December. They suggested opening a window, but then unfortunately when we returned there were lots of bugs and mosquitos in the room.
The staff was extremely friendly and loved the location!

GermanyLibrary Hotel is conveniently located between Bryant Park and Grand Central Station (both are just a few minutes walk away), and thus close to two subway stations as well as two of the three Coach USA bus stations connecting Manhattan with Newark Airport. It‘s a long, narrow historic building with a total of 13 stories, and a beautiful facade with art deco elements. Despite the great location in Midtown, the hotel was conveniently quiet - we stayed on the 12th floor, lower floor levels might be more impacted by traffic noise. The hotel is themed around books and libraries, also the hotel rooms (ours contained books on Asian religions). On the 1st floor, the reception is on the right and the restaurant on the left. On the 2nd floor, a lovely reading room can be used as guest lobby. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, granola bars and fresh fruit are available free of charge 24/7, which is a very nice touch. On the top floor (which is actually the 13th floor yet labeled as 14th floor as 13 is an unlucky number), a rooftop bar provides stunning views of the nearby buildings - drinks are served from 4pm, but the rooftop terrace is accessible 24/7. Our deluxe room was on the 12th floor and came with a comfy queen-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub that also served as a shower, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion) in small bottles (that were refilled daily), and bathrobes. The window could be opened, which we appreciated, but the room also had an A/C. Despite the window, the room was rather dark, which we did not mind at all. Apart from the convenient location, we liked the reading room and rooftop bar most. The hotel has many nice little touches, staff was very friendly, and our room well kept.
