Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo shampoo I was told to use the little bar soap. The dispenser for bath products was missing from the shower wall. I talked the person on duty into bringing a paper cup with a few squirts of shampoo from the supply dispenser. I had to ask three times to get this.
The girl in charge found a packet of plain (no sugar) oatmeal. I appreciated her effort.

AustraliaThe Lions Gate Hotel is about 15-20 minutes drive out of Sacramento and the location is not overly convenient unless you have a car or are attending a conference in the precinct. We found the area to also be a little bit unsavoury with some young people hanging around one of the entrances to our building smoking pot on our arrival. Someone also smoked pot in the corridor and on one night, a car which came into the parking lot at 3am with "music" blaring for at least 20 minutes followed by loud voices. Our room overlooked the parking lot and it was necessary for privacy to keep the plantation shutters angled in such a way that it made the room quite dark. Breakfast was a fairly basic buffet selection of hot food (powdered scrambled egg, grits, biscuits and the like), breads for toasting, jams, etc. some fruit and cereals. The worst thing about it was the throw-away paper/polystyrene bowls, plates and cups along with flimsy plastic cutlery which was next to useless.
The Lions Gate Hotel has some nice history to it with some very interesting old photos as decoration from its time as a US Air Force base, and the grounds are nicely landscaped and well maintained. Our room was quite literally massive with a sitting room (containing a fridge, microwave, sink, tea and coffee facilities, a couch and two matching chairs, television, coffee table, desk, chair and room safe), corridor with a large cupboard on one side and a sizeable bathroom on the other and at the end of the corridor a well-sized bedroom with another desk and chair, television, comfortable bed and bedside tables. We assume that the building once housed the base personnel. The staff were very quick to respond to a request to fix our room safe, provide extra towels and spray some air freshener in the corridor (where someone had smoked pot!). The hotel was adequate for our purposes.

United States of AmericaThe "bath" towels are ridiculously small. I had to dry my feet with my socks! They give you a ticket for breakfast and then there is a sign that says "ONE PLATE PER TICKET". There is no going back for more. So this results in folks taking more than they need on their one pass through. This also is ridiculous. A false sense of economy leading to waste. And instead of a pot of oatmeal they have little packets which you could add hot water.
The suites are large and the property is quiet and beautiful.

United States of AmericaIce machine was a trek to get to but at least it was available. Decor was ok. I get the military theme but a bit overwhelming in the main room (full wall airplane mural). Shower seemed to have only one pressure, strong. Couldn't make it gentler. Floors cold -so perhaps area rug or something would be nice. I happened to have brought my cozy slipper type socks wtih sticky bottom, but my husband felt it was slippery for him in socks. Heater worked ok, it took time but then it did warm up. We asked for ADA room MONTHS in advance, then they said they were overbooked, did we really need one.
It had a fridge, stove top, microwave, coffeemaker with coffee packs (though I don't drink it, it was nice that it is supplied...maybe they could add hot chocolate packets) cupboard space if needed. Trashcans provided in room with bags in them. TV in living room space and bedroom. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Loved that they supplied shampoo/conditioner/body wash/soap/lotion..and even makeup remover pads. (which work great!!) Ice bucket supplied too. Tissue box supplied as well as hairdryer and ironing supplies. Hangers in the closet too. Did I say how much we liked the comfy bed/bedding and pillows? We slept great. Virtual assistant emailed right away asking if we needed anything. Quiet environment. Price was good. Wasn't needing anything fancy, just a place to rest for a night so it worked. Breakfast included though we didn't take advantage as we wanted to sleep in a bit after a late night.

United States of AmericaThe room had an outdated air conditioner on which it was written “please do not touch anything, we turn on the heating ourselves.” It was so cold that I slept in a sweatshirt. The reception is located in another building, not where you live, in the evening you need to walk along a dark street.
The room was very clean. Tasty breakfast.

United States of AmericaIt does still seem like barracks but two bedroom two bath hard to find. Area is a little rough but off the beaten path. Sometimes homeless but not within our vicinity. Martha gave us some tips and helped us acclimate safely. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Nothing happened out of an ordinary stay. I would recommend the wheelchair accessibility be a little more convenient to the two bedroom suites. We personally went up and down the grassy area. Easily be concreted incline plane. I would also put a handrail on the steps towards the two bedroom suites. Possibly a little more solar lighting along the pathways.
Loved the restaurant. Loved parking.Loved cleaning staff. Second night Marta truly was like visiting family. She was very helpful and kind. Went over and above.

United States of AmericaThe heater kept cycling on and off constantly. There was a noticeable gap under the door so put a dog blanket to block off the cold air thinking that might reduce the cycling of the heater, but it didn't. It could be a bit annoying during the night because it was loud. It's great to include the breakfast, but maybe "up" the quality a bit and maybe add more variety, like a waffle machine. Not a real complaint, just a suggestion. Overall, the breakfast was just okay.
I liked that it was once used by military. I liked the grounds and the grass areas. I enjoyed the stay. Breakfast was just okay.

United States of AmericaWiFi was weak and unusable in The Manor House. All brochures in the lobby were for attractions hours away. Need some describing what to do in local area or Sacramento like the Zoo or Crocker.
I felt safe, all outer doors always require a card to enter. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel a historical feel to it. Staff was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast while not varied was enough for us.
