Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNot a thing.
I literally loved every single thing about Lumeria. The salt water pool, the grounds, the breakfasts, the quiet. It was perfect. And it was also a good location with proximity to Haleakala entrance. It was nice to see upcountry Maui, which might actually be my favorite part.

United States of AmericaMy only criticism was the AC in my room didn’t get super cool which was fine overnight but then died during our busy getting ready for the wedding in the morning. Luckily a friend booked a room a few doors down so we had a nice cold room to finish up in!
All staff members I dealt with either on the phone or in person were amazing and helpful. Special shout-out to Shane from the restaurant for going above and beyond to make sure my friends and I were well fed delicious food before my wedding!

BelgiumAll was perfect. Unfortunately we had a fire alarm in the evening, following which the electricity was cut off until the next morning. The staff did their best to accommodate guests despite the circumstances.
Historical property set in beautiful landscaped gardens, very peaceful, great staff & food.

United States of AmericaWe wish there were more food and snack options available on the resort. The dinner was very average for the price (cost us $184) for two which felt a little high for the quality of the food. Food was good but not great and wasn’t worth the expense.
It is nice that breakfast was provided daily, but a little more of a rotation in the menu would have been nice. We were pretty much served the same food for a week.

United States of AmericaI read reviews on booking before deciding to stay here, and then made the mistake of looking at google reviews before I actually arrived. Needless to say, they were wrong. This place is FANTASTIC! No, there is no AC, no television. That’s the point of the place. There are a variety of classes everyday. No, they are not all advanced yoga for champs. Again, that’s something you can do with the place though, can have your own advanced yoga retreat. Yes, the staff IS wonderful! They all offer suggestions on things to do and see. They are all kind. They are all chill. Yes, the place is clean. But there are plants and animals abound, feral chickens and cats, snails, lizards. And the wind blows. Sometimes there are leaves blowing about. Often times there are rainbows. The views are magical. You can see both sides of the island from the hill where the retreat sits. There is always a soft rustle in the abundant trees on the property. There is plenty of shade to avoid being overheated. (Caveat, I visited in November, so I can’t speak to summer months.) I found the place quiet, peaceful, restorative. Exactly as advertised. Highly recommend massage with Tanmayo. She is incredible! The pool and hot tub are wonderful. Great location - love the wall of shrubbery making the space very private. I will return, as often as i can!

United States of America- Rooms are not cleaned every day. It is only cleaned every 3 days upon request if you stay long enough. - It doesn't have A/C. Given the height of the place, it is mostly fine. You have a roof fan instead.
- Place is peaceful - Pool and jacuzzi - Yoga and related classes - Wooden Crate (restaurant). It has a delicious pre-fixed menu that changes daily. They adapted beautifully to vegan/vegetarian restrictions. - Decoration
