To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaPaying $45 to park a car each day is over the top. The rectangle shaped toilets were really WEIRD and don't fit slender bottoms. No place to hang your towel to dry after showers. Poor room lighting.

We arranged dinner last minute at Summer House and enjoyed a lovely evening with friends on the patio. The ambience was perfect, however the food was just ok. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed the outdoor terrace outside our room during our stay. The location couldn't have been better with access to shopping and restaurants.

United KingdomThe hotel was very overpriced for what it was (basically hotel price for motel facilities). 1) No gym (they will bring you an exercise bike if you ask for it) 2) Rooms were ok but nothing special 3) Restaurant was ok but again nothing special 4) Our room was not cleaned one day

United States of AmericaWe had the most confusing and uncomfortable experience both while checking in and throughout staying there. There was a mix up with our check in because of another guest with the same name - but we were misled and offered vague answers for 24 hours when we pressed what was happening. We had to wait over 20 min to get into our room, were locked out of our room twice by the staff and had to ask the manager about our safety. It was incredibly poor customer service for what should have been a simple misunderstanding but it ruined the entire weekend. On top of all of this one of the blinds was broken so the room was not well-lit and the shower drain was backed up so every shower meant standing in water.
We love the bunkhouse property group and the curated materials/design in the hotel. It was right where we need to stay in south Congress so booked based off that.

United States of AmericaThere was confusion around the parking and the valet service was extremely slow, they really need more than 1 person doing that position on a weekend The hotel hosted weddings both nights we were there. These took place outside in the courtyard literally outside our room (one floor down). We could hear every word and the music. The door to our room did not close properly and one day we came back to it having been left ajar While gorgeously styled, the rooms design was not very functional, the fridge was set on the other side of a built in desk to the bed so every time it's motor ran it vibrated through the headboard and bed. There was no power on one side of the bed to charge a phone.
The location was great, steps away from S. Congress and it's restaurants, shopping and bars The bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean The hotel is beautifully designed and styled

United States of AmericaStaff is clearly NOT trained in providing good hospitality. Valet didn’t offer to help with bags (even after I tipped him $10 for taking the car). At the front desk during check in, we did not receive much of a welcome. Two separate times while lugging our own bags to our rooms, staff took elevators in front of us (rather than waiting and letting us go first). Unreal!! Valet did not even help us load the car at the end of our trip - he stood there and watched as we struggled to lift and fit our bags into the car. It was almost like we were on candid camera (but it was actually happening). SUPER surprising and memorable (in a bad way). We won’t be returning.
