Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we couldn’t fault any part of the hotel. We felt very valued and looked after as guests. Great sized rooms and one of the comfiest beds we have stayed in. Great coffee and flavoured waters available throughout the hotel. Great idea to have board games in the lobby and live music. The courtyard was a great addition to this hotel with a lovely fire pit. The staff were exceptional throughout. We will definitely return to this hotel when staying in San Francisco.

overpriced parking when there is a parking station nearby onsiderably cheaper. staff was not upfront on this, said all parking around was similar pricing

Every aspect of the experience was top notch--there was no category for "SPIRIT/ENTHUSIASM" but if there were, I would have given them a 10! Everyone was so friendly and there were amazing activities offered, movies, ice cream in lobby one day...all fantastic!

Great location, easy walking distance to the heart of Fisherman's Wharf, in a safe location with lots of food and grocery options close by. Very clean room with ample space, a great coffee machine and the free laundry facilities on suite was a massive bonus.

Nothing! Well deserved a 10 score!
Location was amazing. Staff absolutely brilliant. Hotel amenities fabulous. Laundry facilities, games for kids, relaxing courtyard where you could pop a bottle of wine and chill. Loved the ambiance of the hotel and all the staff seemed to love working here. Had 3 days and felt looked after. Definitely on our list of hotels to return too. Ooh and a decent coffee machine in room! Offered suggestions and activities as well. Loved everything about this hotel. Area around has great restaurants and location is two minute walk to piers and Fisherman’s Wharf. Great part of city.

Valet parking was $85 bucks a night which was a bit expensive, in my opinion. But we didn't use our car until we had to leave, so at least we knew our vehicle was safe from the smash and grabs on the street. So I feel like we got our moneys worth. The valet guys were friendly and swift.
Location was ideal, we could pretty much walk everywhere we wanted to go! Plenty of food places and shops as well. The staff was attentive and friendly. Small beach was close by for us to chillax while we ate our pizza and people watched. Everything was AWESOME! When we come back to San Francisco we will definitely be staying here! Loved it!

Thin floor board which means I could hear clearly of the people upstairs walking around.
Big spacious clean room, nice hot shower and flavoured water tap on every floor. Really appreciate the laundry facility. Very friendly staff when checking in and out.

Tons of useable amenities, lots of little extra nice touches. Beautiful rooms had an industrial decor. Shower was exceptionally awesome! Really nice Aveeda products.

The light in the room can be improved as it was very dim. It makes it difficult to see especially when we need to pack our bags. Another issue we found was the noise came directly above our room as the occupant moved around during the night. First night, the noise happened around 1am and 4am on the second night.
The location of the hotel is strategically located within proximity to the tourist attractions. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable with soft pillows. Our children loved the bed.

You can hear noise through the walls very easily. Hotel provided complimentary ear plugs and an eye mask to mitigate this issue, which was nice.
Staff were extremely friendly from the moment I entered the hotel. I’ve traveled many places, and this was by far my favorite stay at a hotel. I slept comfortably, the room was very clean, and the shower was great.
