The setting and interior are in an old style, which is not the most convenient, but it adds to the charm of the place.

It's old-fashioned but beautifully maintained. We arrived very late, but it was still easy to check-in. We loved the breathtaking view from the breakfast room and the small yet high-quality breakfast. The staff cannot be kinder, and parking is available directly at the property. I would stay again when I travel to Pacific Grove.

Everything was fantastic, save for pillows, which felt like they were stuffed with cotton balls and offered little support.

Everything about the inn feels thoughtful and cozy, from the books in the library to the carefully-curated antiques in each room. It truly feels like you’ve stepped back in time to the pinnacle of the Victorian era. The staff is lovely and welcoming, and there are few things like spotting a dolphin or two in the bay as you enjoy a hot breakfast.

Shower had an extremely low water pressure. Breakfast was limited in diversity (though plenty of food to go around).

Great location positioned directly at the sea. Couldn't find a better location in Monterey. Extremely nice staff.

Breakfast was a little disappointing after reading many raves. Eggs on muffins were tasty but not warm - maybe a chafing dish would help?

Superb location, charming old-time feel. Enjoyed a welcome bottle of wine overlooking the Bay.

Get some new mattresses please. They are ancient and bone breaking,

Everything was amazing. The best part? Otters for breakfast, Judy for lunch and sunsets for dinner. Judy made this hotel become a five star accommodation , without her there is no hotel as she is the hardest worker, training staff, being present and always having a smile. I will be back for Judy- period.

From the moment I stepped in to the moment I left I was taken care of. The ladies were just amazing! Whatever they are making, Mr. Martine, they deserve more than just a raise…daily praise for a job well done is free! Thank you for a wonderful 3 nights. The accommodations are gorgeous and I so appreciate it the winter special rates. Hot breakfast served in a room overlooking the ocean! What a great way to start the day In the center of things. We used Game room for nightly ping pong matches.

Great location, quaint historic inn, right across the street from the ocean. You can hear the ocean from the front porch. The breakfast was nice, and the breakfast room is brilliant - huge windows overlooking the ocean.

Fixed head shower. Flat iron doorstop, toe stubbing hazard.

Helpful staff. Great views from dining room. Well equipped hotel. Nice thick curtains kept room dark. Little noise due to location.

We were sad we only stayed one night!

A charming hotel, right on the ocean front in Pacific Grove. An easy stroll to Cannery Row to the right and a lovely walk along the coastal path to the left, taking in all the wildlife in the ocean. Beautiful! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a lovely bonus! You can also help yourself to coffee and water all day.

Original room was way too cluttered for its size with too much furniture. Also some of the rooms are very noisy from squawking seagulls.
