Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Close to Time Square! Staff amazing, hotel tucked in out of sight, so it's quite compared to how close we were. We hired bikes and rode for miles, hotel Central to all sights and attractions. Staff even organised private car for us to return to airport!

The room and facilities are tiny. This was not a problem for us, but if you are a big person you should check with them what size room you are getting.
The hotel is in a prime spot next to Time Square. It was great value for money, which was good for us considering our poor currency. Everything you need and sparkling clean.

The room is small, as advertised and as expected for New York - didn't have a problem with that. The budget rooms window is on the back of the building and there is another building 1.5 m away + they have the external ladder. This gives you a strange feeling, but we locked the window and had no problem
The hotel is newly renovated and looks like the pictures, thus a big plus. Staff was very friendly at checking. Location is amazing, 2 minutes from Times Square, and the street looks safe even close to midnight. I'd choose the hotel again.

The mini-split a/c in 404 was ridiculously loud and much louder than the noise outside. I hate that tiny sink.

We really liked our stay, the price is high but the location is worth it. But the overall expression was a bit ruined the last evening when we came for our stored luggages. Our flight was cancelled so we had to buy a night bus to Washington and we thought we could spend a few hours in the lobby until then… But the hotel manager at the reception told us we can’t stay and we had to leave. With our huge luggage into the dark cold streets with many weirdos (it was 11 pm so there was no rush in the hotel). Absolutely no empathy. Still don’t know why it would be such a problem to sit on a couch in silence for some time? Especially in this cold weather…

I stayed 4 nights, the staff are very courteous, professional and friendly. The rooms are very clean. The location is perfect, two minutes to Times Square, the train station and bus stop were within a few minutes walking distance, highly recommended!!

I am a People Person. The entire Staff met my expectations. Housekeepers were warm and friendly. Front Desk was very courteous and professional. The location was perfect. All the trains I needed was in walking distance.

Some sort of food option or a small fridge would have been nice. Had one shower in my week that was lukewarm but others I had were fine.
Location close to Times Square and the Park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee bar. The small size made it seem more personal.

Surprisingly pleasant. Room was clean, great city view, and close to the elevator. Welcoming staff with offerings of coffee and tea. Bags can be checked if you're a little early for check in and there is a bathroom available in the lobby. Location is close to Times Square. A few blocks to the Yellow train lines, so you can really get anywhere in the city. Many places to eat and shop nearby.

The bathroom was small. However it’s NYC and for the price , it wasn’t too bad.
I had a great stay. It was such good location in the theater district. So close to the C, E trains, and the NQW Trains. The room and bathroom were very clean! The staff were very kind and helpful.
