Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaHotel check-in took a little while to find and was not immediately obvious.
Breakfast was delicious, and the ambiance of the property was amazing - I almost didn't want to leave the premises.

United States of AmericaJust the closets. They did have hooks on the walls that worked for clothes. The grounds were lovely so I can't think of anything else
This former Catholic school for girls and boys capitalized on the service of the nuns. Each room was named after a nun with a bit of her story. The bed was painted with a nun and the walls had pictures of nuns working together, Fixtures were old fashioned and playful. Color combinations were wonderful as was the whole of the interior of our room. Only drawback was a lack of cl0set (s). Not a big problem. There were several bars and a good restaurant. On bar was a speakeasy with a hidden entrance, Very charming.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is a comprised of several buildings and I had trouble navigating my way around. I kept wishing there were "You Are Here" signs in the areas between buildings. Smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas, and there's a cigar bar. I have a lifetime disgust for the stench of cigar smoke but had to walk through the smoking area to get to my room.
This was my second McMenamins property and I love the eclectic, relaxed, fun vibe. The room and bed were very comfy and clean. The location was wonderful! Just a three block walk to Drake Park with great coffee spots, restaurants and shopping all very close by. Downtown Bend has a lot of walkers and it feels safe, which is important to me as a solo traveling female. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a movie theater as part of the hotel complex. I got to see the new Indiana Jones film. A treat! There was also plenty of free, off-street parking.

United States of AmericaThe room was dark even with the lights on. Bathroom had very little vanity space to put cosmetics, etc. on. Staff on duty at check-in was not cheerful, smiling, or pleasant. He just got me checked-in.
Did not have breakfast, as I knew service was very slow, because I had had lunch there. Went uptown for dinner.

United States of AmericaThe showerhead in my room was generic and could be improved upon but that is the only thing.
McMenamin's offers elegant rooms with comfortable beds, large bathrooms, room service, and fluffy terry cloth robes and towels just like other high-end luxury hotels. However, McMenamin's offers more than simply a nice place to stay. I might not choose McMenamin's for a quick overnight stay. But as a destination unto itself no question, this is the place to stay! McMenamin's offers a fascinating and imaginative world that is not only relaxing but takes you to another place, an adventure in itself that is a luxury I find difficult to express. I loved; the artwork, the themes throughout, the stories and references to music artists and songs, the headboard in my room, the soaking pool, all the food wherever you ate it, the outdoor fireplaces, wood paneling, the warm feel, the atmosphere, the people both other guests and McMenamin's staff. The list is endless. Plus it was amazingly quiet. I did not hear neighboring rooms or bathrooms or even the public patio outside my building. All this is right in the heart of downtown Bend.

United States of AmericaJust wish there were better temperature /fan control options. The air in the room easily became stuffy.
As a solo traveler I was quite pleased by the activity options right there in the eclectically decorated hotel complex. I soaked away the driving miles in the wonderful spa pool and only passed on the Pub Trivia game so I could enjoy a big screen movie in an actual movie theater with grown up drinks and snacks available.
