We stayed in the Annex. It needs some work. Elevator was not working, room phone did now work and several electrical outlets were broken. Room also had very little light.

Rooms are poorly soundproofed. We had a conjoining room and the people next to us used a very loud sound machine to sleep. Couldn’t sleep at all. Called the front desk and asked to be moved but the staff member didn’t have authority to move anyone and told us we would have to wait until morning. The front desk called us in the AM and said that they could move us to a room on the 2nd floor but I was on crutches and their elevator was broken. Best that could be offered to us was a bottle of wine for our troubles. Could also hear every noise in the hallway.

Property seems very spread out. For instance, we had to go to a completely other building to use the laundry. Breakfast was good but a little hard to find, as was the pool and fitness center. I realize this is because it is built on a hill and space is an issue. Also a hot tub would have been nice.

Food and drinks tended to run out quickly at breakfast time, especially during peak time.

Noise from people talking loudly in the room next to us *adjacent wall* kept waking us up until 12:30pm, which is when we decided to say something to the front desk and they said something that solved the problem.

Had issues with thermostat that required further explanation, then no hot water for showers, no notification when the found out they had a problem. They were nice when we discussed it and gave us a bottle of wine. They fixed the problem after the first couple of complaints but should have notified when they knew there was a problem.

Our room had a water pipe that ran through the ceiling and down through the room's closet. You could hear water running 24/7, which would usually be soothing, but had an underlying sound of air being pushed through with it, which just made the sound disruptive rather than anything else. There was a used bandaid in the floor next to the trashcan when we checked in and the pool was understocked on towels, which to my 6 year old, was thre biggest disappointment of our entire trip. The furniture in the room shows wear, a drawer of the dresser slammed shut no matter how carefully you worked to ease it to, and the TV cable box had to be reset before it would work. The heat cut on like an 18 wheeler popping to life, though we were very glad to have heat while we were there. Also, the elevator was broken, and since we had come with the intent to snow tube/ski, we had more luggage than normal that we had to carry up small, cramped, and underlit stairwells. None of the issues were large on their own, they just happen to compress on top of one another to make for a less than satisfactory stay.

The hotel is located an easy walk from the main strip of Blowing Rock. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery, serves delicious breakfasts, and boasts rooms that are larger than most. The majority of the staff we spoke with were kind and helpful. The pool was of a great size and had gorgeous views, hanging icicles and all.

It would be nice to have a microwave in the room vs going downstairs to heat something up in the tiny community microwave.

It has a cozy vibe. I liked the front lobby area with the fireplace and the breakfast option was a plus for us.

The wifi wasn’t very strong (and we had a room near the reception) The room was clean, apart from the bathroom extractor fan that had an excessive build up of dust

located right in the centre of Blowing Rock. easy to walk everywhere. the grounds are nice to walk around. got an indoor swim, which was nice on a cold winters day. breakfast was good!

The pool was not heated which was disappointing. The outlets were not working Saturday night which was inconvenient but the front desk was able to resolve.

1 : Bedroom bed sheet had stains : which wasn’t a deal breaker but bit annoying! 2: it was raining to much for so long, the open patio wasn’t sealed properly and in night water from patio started to flow inside : our bags were wet :(

The Location, en-suite Pool and space in my Suite. Daily breakfast was fresh made and had changing menu. Staff was super nice and helpful!!!
