Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaI honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say. 10/10 will come back to this gem of a home on the coast...
Mermaid Muse exceeded my expectations at every turn. the Hosts John and Nancy were lovely people who went out of the way to ensure my wife and I had a great stay. the accommodations were quite comfy and offered some much needed quiet relaxation. Soaking in the hot tub while basking in the full moon over the harbor was the perfect end to a beautiful day on the coast!

United States of AmericaIt was all good and more.
A most unique experience. The suite we were in (The Captain's Room) was fabulous. It was spacious, had an awesome bed, amazing bathroom, deck overlooking ocean which we gazed at in our own designated hot tub! The decor of the whole place was an eclectic collection of art with a mermaid/ asian fusion flair. The hosts, Nancy and John, were interesting, friendly, and accommodating. Fresh eggs and baked scones for breakfast! Oh! and the "open bar" was an added luxury.

United States of AmericaNo real issues at all (perhaps the trash can in the bath got forgotten ... : )
Wonderful artistic home ... breath taking views ... and wonderful hosts! Especially the "guard dog"! The home is situated on high slopes overlooking the Coastal entrance into Brookings and provides a first hand setting to watch the weather and waves. The home's decor contains a myriad of antiques, art, and collectibles ... is warm, spacious, and inviting. Comfortable and cozy as well!

United States of AmericaToo much personal clutter, less would be better for me...but it was interesting.
Excellent home cooked breakfast using their own fresh eggs. Loved the hot buttered scones. Enjoyed our own private hot tub and deck. Had a whole suite and only expected a room. Superior queen bed was adjustable and so comfortable. Hosts welcoming and accommodating.

United States of AmericaThe beach house is on a cliff with relaxing ocean views to the south and the harbor area. It is a quiet neighborhood and close to town amenities. The hosts are so welcoming and gracious with an amazing breakfast of eggs from their chickens and incredible scones! The eclectic mermaid motif is all around you which is fun!

United States of AmericaThe only thing that was difficult, was the parking of my work van, but I’m also not great at maneuvering in small spaces in an automobile quite yet.
Picturesque setting (albeit I showed up in Autumn, when an H.P. Lovecraft like slumber had already befallen all of Brookings) and after work, so I never did get to see the property in daylight. This didn’t lessen my appreciation of the space though, just solidified my resolve to visit again when not tied to a work schedule. After turning down two dead end roads and creeping to the end of the second, a narrow driveway (take note, if you’ve got a large vehicle) opens up to guest parking. You’re immediately greeted by the comforting sounds of the owner’s chickens going about their day in a large penned in area amongst the treasure laden front landscape. It’s off putting at first, if you’re accustomed to hotel sterility… but, all the mermaid decor meant this must be the place… The door was open, and no one answered my calls of, “Hello?” After double checking my email, though… it was revealed that my hosts were likely out of town during my arrival time. They gave very clear descriptions as to which rooms were available, and told me to help myself to a drink at the bar, if I’d like. They had even apologized about their house bicycle being unavailable and offered to rent one for me! Exhausted, though… I was just grateful to be in the vicinity of my bed for the night. I chose the mermaid’s quarters on the first floor. Think… in-law unit under the same roof. Private bathroom with all the necessities (In a vibrant turquoise), private hot tub on a deck overlooking the crashing waves (complete with a selection of various robes and slippers for guest use), a mirrored sliding closet door sat across from the canopied queen bed. The front facing woodwork was my favorite part of the bed frame, although the bright colors of the bedding were a close second. The bed even had a massage option-although I opted out of this use. There was so much to just take in, it was easy to get lost. If the hosts aren’t well traveled, they sure could have fooled me.

United States of AmericaHosts, John and Nancy, were so welcoming! Loved the view from our spacious, comfortable room. Once we were in our room and saw the view and hot tub, we decided not to venture out for dinner so the snacks left on the Mimi fridge were so appreciated. Comfortable bed and delicious coffee and breakfast. What more can you ask for!

United States of AmericaWe had some difficulty begetting the hot water out of the right shower head but had we stayed more than one nite we would have gotten this explained.
This is a unique home with a lot of interesting art both original and I expect from the owners travels. The owners themselves were out of town when we stayed but they left us in the pleasant and capable hands of their friends. The atmosphere is very casual, you really feel like you are visiting friends. The jacuzzi with the ocean view was awesome. We used it early in the am and even saw a whale near the shore! They have their own chickens so the eggs are very fresh and a very nice dog. Oh, and I can’t believe I almost forgot the extensive open bar on the second floor of the house. If I had known this place was going to be as unique as it is, I would have arranged more notes. I wish we could have met the owners as I am sure they are interesting people.

United States of AmericaUnfortunately, we did not stay as the B&B was misrepresented in their description. Frankly we did not feel safe there. Some unsolicited recommendations: - provide an inviting entry or a separate entry. - remodel the bathroom. -update the bedroom. -screen the hot tub--having a deck above so viewers look down on you is not relaxing. Sadly a waste of money and time.

CanadaThere was no one home to receive us, apparently house keeper thought no one else arriving that day according to other guest ... who said the owner was away Wifi did not work upon arrival and with the help of another guest after several reboot attempts , it finally worked . That guest said this had happened before At night realized room was filled with mosquitos ... It took me quite a while with the help of another guest to find a vacuum cleaner and over several tries for me to tenacously remove about 200 mosquitos, no-see-ems and other flies. One could guess someone had left a window open
fantastic property but needs actual on-site staff attention
