Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was no fridge in the room which was very disappointing. The TV stopped working the night before we left, too late to report it. Or bath had a blockage on day 1, they fixed promptly.
The location is super handy if you want the vibe of Times Sq. The view of Manhattan was excepptional.

The room was very outdated, cupboard was broken, shower head cover off the wall, carpet was filthy.
Location was great, the main reception gave you the impression of a grand hotel, but that is where it stops.

Charlottes bar could have been open.
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel - didn’t see any restaurant facilities. The room was functional but not special.

Room was dirty, and very tired. Lots of wear and in need of some maintenance. Ok Amenities. Elevator delays to be expected.

The room was old, so old, several parts need a renewal, pieces of moquette are detaching, dirty or broken. The bathroom is even worts. I think for that price they must renew a bit the room, I can understand that you pay for the position but this could not be the 95% of the price. The number of the stars is not even close at the standard we have in Europe, a facility like this would be rated with no more than two stars.
Absolutely the position, it’s located at two footsteps from Timesquare and broadway, the staff is very friendly and helpful. That’s everything for the positive part.

The hotel is now really pretty dated and the rooms are really tired. There’s no bar or restaurant in the hotel itself, and no other available communal space that we were able to find to sit and chat as a family group.
The location is fabulous, 100m from Times Square, there are restaurants and bars for every price range very close by too. The hotel staff are, for the most part, super friendly and helpful.

The furnishings are well used, and the curtains need to be updates but the beds were very comfortable.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a little old and could use some updates but overall, it was a great stay!

Except location everything was bad
The only thing great about this place was its location ... The staff were not that helpful especially one of the ladies at the reception was very rude even after informing her that my mom is 78 years old and tired ... very crude service...There was no breakfast also served.

Sewage smell in the main hallway. Beat up furniture, dirty carpet, lots of dust besides the bedside tables. No kettle, no fridge or mini bar, no bathrobe, no tea or coffee i think 4* hotel should have basic things.

Hair in shower (not ours), water pressure in shower not ideal.

Photos looks much better, Hotel is not new, missing basic amenities like coffee maker etc. and hotel does not provide any restaurant. But all acceptable.
Nice location in hearth of New York City, few steps from Broadway. Everything works but nothing special. Everything was clean and personal was friendly and helpful. Money value ratio is questionable, but acceptable.

No facilities really but biggest let down was upgrading our room for extra and the view really wasn’t worth it. I don’t think it would have made any difference to regular view. Also a little dusty.

The price was high even for the location. The bathroom door did not close, there were no washcloths in the bathroom and the sink dripped and I could not shut it off. I reported the lack of washcloths and sink and am sure that was fixed.
The location is perfect, near to Times Square and the Theater District.

For the price, the room was dated, could definitely be refreshed. The bathroom was very basic, fixtures were corroded and needed maintenance.

The hidden cost of an additional $100 threw a few guests; though refundable but should be mentioned at time of booking.
