Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaHousekeeping was a mystery. Somedays they came. Somedays they didn't. And even when I left a note on the soap dispenser letting them know the soap was out, it was never refilled. I didn't have time to go to the office and work it all out.
The location was perfect for this trip. My client was just up the hill at the closest intersection and we were less than 2 miles away so it was perfect. I also liked the renovations that had been done to our room. The vanity area was separate from the lavatory and shower area, which was perfect, and everything was new and modern and updated. There were plenty of hooks for towels, toiletries, and clothes (which was a nice touch that I don't see at all hotels--even fancy ones) and there were even two seating areas (besides the beds) in the room--an office chair and a bench. I also really liked having the microwave and minifridge in the room. This property suited our needs for this trip perfectly!

United States of AmericaNeeded air for the 75 degree room. Fine. Found out one needed to plug in the AC, which was fine. But the TV volume, when maxed at level 20, was not loud enough to hear the TV over the loudness of the AC unit.
Clean, safe, comfortable.

South AfricaIt is due to the location right (San Clemente and proximity to the beach), but $150 per night, perhaps still a bit too pricey.
Clean and spacious room, nicely designed bathroom. Comfortable bed. Close to 7/11, gas station and restaurants. Walking distance from the Calafia Beach (about 20mins).

United States of AmericaAs I like to include “heads up” things in my reviews, please note the following: The hotel can charge a $100 deposit at check in. El Camino Real is a major thoroughfare in San Clemente. That means a lot of traffic during the day and on into the evening. But it was pretty quiet from about 11pm to 6am. However, if you want to sleep early and have a street-facing room, it could be an issue. I didn’t have any trouble sleeping even when the traffic was going by.
Lovely hotel! I stayed two nights in mid-May. Because I was waiting for my son to come home from deployment, I wanted a hotel close to the Camp Pendleton San Mateo gate. And, because I wouldn’t know until he actually landed somewhere what time he’d be showing up, I didn’t want to wander far from my hotel. So I was in the room a lot. Check in was fast and easy, and the folks at the front desk were just as nice as could be. I had a king room, which included a sleeper sofa and a gorgeous walk in shower! The room was spotless. It included a small refrigerator with freezer, microwave, hair dryer, and a Keurig coffee maker! The bed was wonderful. FOUR big soft pillows, a fluffy comforter, and pillow-top mattress. The air conditioner was a bit loud, but it didn’t keep me from sleeping at all. I would definitely stay here again!

United States of AmericaConstruction. Noise. Read below..
A very charming place. Nice touches throughout. Well thought out remodel. Super comfy bed and a gorgeous shower! 😍 🚿 The owners were courteous. Not overly friendly but not rude. I checked in rather late and stayed 3 days. I had to leave a $100 deposit, but was able to do so in cash. Actually I was able to pay entirely in cash. The first night, plus deposit came to $210. A little pricey, to be honest. Started out a $99 a night rate and ... well, it is what it is. I DID receive my deposit back upon checkout. I've read the previous reviews and I do believe they have remedied the noise from the street issue.. at least I heard nothing. Having said all that... what I DID hear, was the insanely loud, starting early (7am) and ending late (8 pm) CONSTRUCTION every.... single.... day. I mean, it was SO loud, the water cup on my table was vibrating. Literally. I took a video of it. I'm NOT a complainer. Actually, I tend to let TOO much slide. But this noise level was downright absurd for a hotel to keep while still booking guests. I understand they have a bottomline to worry about. With covid and a remodel... I cant imagine their stress. But, they ARE in the hospitality industry. Subjecting guests to that intrusive level of noise ALL DAY, without one mention of it upon check in is simply NOT hospitable. They should be honest and upfront about the construction and noise and give the guest the opportunity to NOT check in. It's the right thing to do. I mean, some people come to this area to see the ocean for the first time. Take their kids to Disneyland for maybe the ONLY time. They save and work and save and work for months.. YEARS to take a family vacation. To be met with that?? No sleep. Crying kids. And a staff that not only wont so much as knock $10 off for the inconvenience. (Yes, I asked.) But didn't bother to mention it to begin with. I would be l i v i d. I have great respect for people taking on a business like that. I know it's all-consuming.

United States of AmericaThe hotel staff went above and beyond. We checked in VERY late and they were kind enough to stay up to wait for us until nearly midnight. Hotel Miramar was a great value and we had a good night sleep. The air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, and in-room coffee maker were much appreciated. The parking on site was ample and safe.

United States of AmericaThe room had a bad musty smell. It was probably the carpet and/or the little fabric sofa, which looked like it could’ve used some vacuuming! It was a little too expensive for me, but it was the weekend so I get it. Plus it’s a beach town with good shops and restaurants.
We just needed a place for the night. It was close to where we needed to go. It’s right off a main street so it was quite busy and noisy. However, the room was quite large and clean. The bed was king size and comfortable; the pillows were too lumpy for me. We loved the bathroom as it looked newly done. Water pressure was great. The air conditioner worked very well.

United States of AmericaThe walls and flooring killed this experience. Our room was a couple hundred feet from the road, sleeping past 8 am was not an option due to traffic and motorcycles even with white noise on. We stayed on the bottom floor, our upstairs neighbor decided to do parkour at 3 am which woke us up for an hour. They also decided to get up at 730 am on a Sunday and stomp around, although not as bad as a few hours before. It still sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in though, wish I was exaggerating. We could also hear every time one of our neighbors let their door slam as they were heavy fire doors. We left the room exhausted and it really hampered our Sunday experience in the area.
The hotel rooms were nice, recently renovated. Plenty of clean towels, nice shower, decent size TV, had in room safe, Keurig, mini fridge, microwave, decent beds and pillows, decent blackout curtains.
