A nice motel with a funky smell

The pool could have used a bit of a clean with a skimmer. Also, our room had a very odd smell. We bought some room spray and continually sprayed but it just wouldn't go away. (It smelled quite earthy and pungent.)

Super comfortable bed, cool location right off Route 66. Liked the pool but

The internet was spotty and slow. The walls are very thin. I could hear someone in the adjacent room coughing. Also, the road noise can be quite loud and the walls didn't do a great job of muffling the sound of people driving by.

The room was cute and comfortable. It was very conveniently located to access the parts of the city I wanted to visit. The bed was comfortable and I felt safe in the area. The lady working at the front desk who checked me in was polite and friendly.

The motel was comfortable but did not feel Route 66 historical.

I was disappointed that the character and feel of being on Route 66 was not there. The sign in the front was the only thing that felt historical. Modern buildings surrounded the motel. The room decor was not at all reminiscent of historical Route 66. We arrived around 9:00 pm, so the lobby was filled with loud music and neon lighting.

The room was nice and clean, but, in my opinion, too modern. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was large but not a lot of space around the sink to place personal items.

    Lobby hours and shower head

Love the updates and design of the space! Patio by the lounge was perfect. Lobby hours not great, Still wasn’t open when we left this morning at 10am and we couldn’t get ice when lobby was closed. Shower head would not stay up and though water got hot the pressure wasn’t great. Overall we loved it and it was a great value.

    Don’t stay in unit 7

Unfortunately our stay was a little bit spoiled by the mechanical noise coming from the generator right next to our unit, number 7, infact it shared a wall with said unit so you could feel the noise and vibration all night non stop. We had a long 5h drive ahead the next day and this made it quite hard to get a good night sleep. By the time we realised it was too late to ask for a room change but if you’re a light sleeper I’d suggest staying in a different room.

The room was nicely decorated and the motel was only a short walk from the old town where you can find many restaurants and cafes. I would stay here again but in a different room.

Wished we'd know about the pool. No mentiopn of it in hotel

The family room, the complementary coctail, the neon sign & the helpful staff, especially Crystal who was extra helpful and friendly. We also liked the extra restrooms and showers next to our family room so we didn't have to all share the one in the double room nextdoor

On a busy road but I was at the back so not a problem.

Great room and bathroom . I had the best room apparently as I had a balcony overlooking the oil. No meals provided but there was a kitchen on site I could have used. But they forgot to mention it!

My only thing that I was not fond of was the fact that the detachable shower head was pretty hard to use considering the shower door does not enclose the entire shower so one part of the shower is pretty open and will likely leave the floor completely wet when you’re finished!

I enjoyed the location of the property it was so perfect and convenient to locate! I only stayed one night but when I say it was sooooooo quiet! SO QUIET and not in an eerie way! The staff was great from beginning to end! Perfect pit stop for a layover!

Room remote didn’t work for TV. Moved us to another room but that one had a strange musty smell. The first one smelled great. Too tired to move again so we stayed.

Newly renovated right on Route 66. Clean room in a very clean and safe area of town. Good lighting in parking lot. Free coffee in the morning. Hairdryer in the room. Great water pressure in the shower. Staff very helpful.

The bed wasn't as comfortable as it looked. They said to scan a card and a restaurant will deliver you food to you. This was a perk for a solo traveler. I scanned the card and 2 places showed up both said they didn't deliver. I had to go find a place to each when I counted on this. I was told the bar closed at 10pm when I went back the door was locked. When I returned from dinner the lights were on but I didn't feel like a drink.

The room was very clean. Well decorated and comfortable.

The shower could really use a curtain/door to help contain water

Very clean rooms with a comfortable bed. The location was convenient to Old Town and right along the rapid bus route which connects directly to Downtown and UNM. The room was well put together and felt spacious for two people.

There was no refrigerator or microwave, which are fairly standard these days. And there were little things that, while none of them were deal breakers by themselves, but together they were somewhat annoying. For example: there was no trash can, the TV remote would turn the TV on but not off (had to unplug it), the shower head wouldn't stay up.

The room was clean and looked like it had been newly rennovated. There was plenty of space, and the place was quiet and well kept. It was located very close to Old Town.

    No microwave or refrigerator.

We actually got moved to the sister location El Vado, which we have stayed at before. We were bummed we didn't get to see how the rooms were at Monterey, but both excellent motels to stay at. We will always stay here from now on.
