To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe place has a lot of wear. The bathtub was flakey and the stair and walkways have cracks. The coffee machine in the lobby didn't work.
Staff was nice. Room was good size. Not the far from restaurants and other facilities. Close to the freeway.

United States of AmericaIt has a horrible odor in the parking lot, a lot of trash in the hall ways, big bags of garbage, the tub’s lining was peeling, one of the ice machines doesn’t work so I had to walk across the property to another one, not enough towels for 2 guests and there were long strands of hair on the outside of the tub and on the walls.

I like the location and the staff are really nice one day then one day they’ll be rude. But over all this is my favorite Motel 6 to stay at when I travel here from the east coast.

It was a great location for my family to visit Legoland. The front desk clerk was kind enough to make sure we got a room that accommodated my mentally handicap son. The location was quiet with lots of restaurants near by.

United States of AmericaThe smell of raw sewage near the stairs to the second floor on the south wing of the building. The piles of trash and sad kids toys near the trash bins outside that were never taken out. Its odd that just a little maintenance would actually make this a very decent hotel, it's almost like they want it a little grungy and dirty just to keep It on-brand.
The attendant at the front desk was very friendly and quick to check us in.
