Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I was placed in a handicapped room right by the stairwell. I could hear people coming and going about their day or night. It didn't have a stable chair for me to sit comfortably when preparing to get dressed. I missed not having a refrigerator available in the actual room.
The fact that location was in walking distance to Canal street was a plus. It was great because once you left the main streets it was less crowded and nosey.i

That our room had no windows, girls at the front could have done a better job of explaining how the valet worked, and they were nice but the could have been more inviting.
The entrance of the bar looked nice and I liked how it had all the games! Nice atmosphere!

Most of the staff is lazy, the phone is hardly answered no matter what time of day you called and everyone says “I’ll let my manager know” when an issue is presented. Valet service was horrible!
Hotel was beautiful and located in a great location.

It was exactly as advertised and the staff was great.

The shampoo attached to the wall was so old it had separated and didn’t even lather. They did not provide a bar of soap which would have been nice. you can tell they sweep the floors but do not mop as my feet would be dirty walking around just out of the shower. I wish there had been a closet or small chest of drawers to hang/put away clothing instead of leaving it in the suit case the entire trip.
Our room was nice and clean! They refreshed our towels and made our bed daily which was nice! Staff were great and accommodating! It was very nice to have a hand held steamer in our room and ironing room as our clothes became a little wrinkled. We were in town for a wedding so they came in handy! Would stay here again.

I was charged an extra $25 fee and I’m not sure why. I called the Hotel and inquired about this and was told I would get refunded. No refund I had to call my bank to refund me, I hate booking hotels because of this specifically. I’m always carful to double check

Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived which was disappointing since we flew out of state. However, we understood because we went during Mardi Gras and it was completely booked out!
The staff was extremely nice, I liked the variety of drinks and snacks at the bar/lobby, and it is at a very convenient location! We were walking distance from Canal st., Bourbon st. and just about every Ave. around there. The drive was also 12-17 mins to other areas we found.

The smell/air freshener in the lobby was too strong. Could smell it even a block down the street.

Ac didn't cool the room, stayed around 70 the whole time which wasn't bad but was hard to sleep without a fan or cool air.

There is no house keeping and didn’t refresh towels in the room, no ironing boards, and hot water wasn’t all of that

How long it took to get a drink at the bar. Too much of the employees were talking and laughing with eachother to pay attention to the guest wanting to order.

Not a fan of the Moxy decor or that fact they don’t offer a complimentary breakfast. Moxy is not my first choice in the Marriott line of hotels.
Location was great! The room was very clean and beds very comfortable. Room rate was higher than usual due to Mardi Gras, but we were happy to get a room in downtown.

My room location was not ideal as it backed on to the elevator shaft and windows are single glazed so a bit noisy. No food available except basic chips.
Cool hotel, nice and funky public facilties. Room was spacious.

The staff could be a bit friendlier, especially in New Orleans where everyone is very friendly.
I’m a former Moxy employee, so I know the standards and what the expectations should be. Yes, the Moxy feeling, which I like very much, is there.
