Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaEarly May is the offseason, so the hotel restaurant was not open nor were there many options in the historic downtown area of Jackson. I would suggest the continental breakfast offer a few more choices such as toast and toppings other than just plain cream cheese for the bagels--there are individual packets of peanut butter and jams available that would be nice.
Great location in the very center of town along with convenient free parking. Although an historic building and decor, the amenities were very modern; i.e., the shower/bathroom; etc. The bed and linens were VERY comfortable--right up there with five-star hotels that offer their bedding for purchase!

United States of AmericaNo luck on any ghost sightings and breakfast was lacking. All options were packaged food like individually wrapped muffins, oatmeal packets, and dry cereal. No hot options. Nothing too special and very restrictive for anyone with food allergies or gluten intolerance.
Loved this hotel and the history behind it. If you go, take time to stop at the different posts in the area and read about the mining. The hotel itself was so charming inside and out.

It is the quaintest of hotels built in the 19th century and yet upgraded with modern amenities.

United States of AmericaI loved everything! It was a beautiful historic building but every accommodation was modern, clean, and worked well. There was copious parking and we had a lovely dinner down the street because it was the off season, though I understand that the on-site restaurant will be open in the summer. The building had stairs and an elevator. And breakfast was also excellent - there were hot and cold options. Lastly, the staff were kind and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again if the opportunity arose.

United States of AmericaIf we had the opportunity to book a balcony room. Son's queen room's bathroom was very cold so he took showers in our room.
The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. Sad to find out balcony rooms can only be booked directly with the hotel. Booking.com does not provide such as an option. Pictures in their web site was misleading. Otherwise, it was a great stay at a historical hotel right in downtown Jackson. Can check out the stores without driving. Restaurants are good too.

United States of AmericaThey really need to open up the bar and restaurant. To have a more convenient experience. The opportunity to enjoy the hotel fully and not feel like we needed to leave and go somewhere else to enjoy a meal or some drinks would have made this trip even better.
The staff was absolutely amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. They gave us the wonderful history of the hotel and will most definitely be back.

United States of AmericaThis hotel, located at the head of the old town Main Street in Jackson, is beautifully furnished, with period furniture and historic photos of the town. Location is literally about the most ideal spot for those wishing to wander in the many shops and restaurants lining Main Street. Our stay was over New Year's weekend, however, so most of the shops and restaurants on Main Street were closed. Our room was spotless and a blend of historic furnishings with modern appliances. An elevator is available. The king bed was really comfortable with a soft duvet and down pillows. Breakfast was very basic on the holiday weekend, with microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and cereals, plus juices, yogurt, milk, etc. Plastic plates and utensils. Not in operation was an industrial size espresso machine, sigh. However, coffee in thermos was good and plentiful, and the attending lady kept everything clean and stocked. All in all, we had a very pleasant experience at the National Hotel and we look forward to staying here again.
