Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Needs taller chairs on balcony so you can see full view of water. Saw several roaches in our condo. Refrigerator was leaking water onto top shelf.
Location was great, beach view was nice. Beach wasn’t crowded at all.

Upon entering the condo, the smell was old and musty and smelled like old cigarette smoke. The carpet was nasty and worn and when you would walk on it the musty smell just got worse. The beds were obviously old. The sheets and comforters were stained. In the kitchen the main light may or may not work. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets and the storage under the stove. There were no oven mitts to be found in the property and the cookware was terrible. We had to buy a pan and oven mitts. The 2nd bedroom was hot and stuffy. The air conditioner vent was black and looked moldy. There was a big TV in the closet and we were unable to use the closet for fear that it might get broken. The closet I did use to hang my stuff, I left the doors open because of the old, musty smell. The showers were not clean, they still had hair in them. The sink had hair on and in it. The exhaust fan in the main bathroom was making a terrible squealing/grinding noise and was unable to be used. The couch in the living room was nasty. It felt grimy and so uncomfortable. We had to buy a sheet to put over the couch before we would sit on it. The chairs were ok, but were also uncomfortable. We could not get the living room tv to work. Upon inspection, there were no cables going into the back of the TV, including the power cord. The balcony held water for 4 days of our stay. I contacted the property manager about a few of the problems and they sent out a maintenance man that was very helpful with a few things. He put the large TV in the living room on the coffee table and hooked it up. He tried to fix the fan in the bathroom, but a part had to be ordered. He also took a lamp with him that was broken. There were several inconsistencies with the listing and what was in the condo. The seats at the bar and the seats at the table were not the ones listed. You can’t even sit at the bar where they are so tall. The ones at the table you can barely finish a meal sitting in them.
Beach and pool access was so easy and convenient. The view from the balcony was amazing even though it was not the one in the picuture of the listing. The pool was very nice at this location. Check-in was very easy. They sent a code, and we were just able to go in. The parking passes were located on the kitchen counter.

Beds were uncomfortable. Could probably use thicker mattress covers to pad more.
Location was excellent!! Loved, loved, loved that it was right on the beach. Balcony was big enough to accommodate all of us while we hung out & listened to the waves.
