Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

This is the fifth time I've stayed here. The location is great (for me as I spend most of the time in LA between Cerritos and the South Bay). Love the Japanese breakfast. parking is FREE!

The shower head in my room wasn't cleaned. There was also damage on the door to my room.
Breakfast was very delicious and had a two great choices. The staff was amazingly kind and attentive.

Breakfast choices are western or Japanese. The choice is good; however, the food is not delicious but acceptable
Excellent value. Clean throughout. Rooms are large with windows that open for fresh air. A highlight is the washlet toilet in the bathroom. Attached garage parking is free. Many good restaurants just a few minutes walk away.

Smoking section right outside the front door makes the front patio a little inhospitable to non smokers, but it's not a big deal.
Clean hotel, friendly staff and free parking. Walkable to some great restaurants and close to LAX. Very quiet and restful stay, free tea in the lobby. And the best hotel breakfast I've ever had in LA- Japanese Bento box- is included for free. My wife got the American breakfast and it was a 6/10, while the Japanese box I got was 11/10.

The New Gardena Hotel was great!! The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good included fresh fruit. The front desk went above and beyond helping me with tickets I bought for the game I was in town to see. I would stay there again for sure.

Building and decor showing age, but not unpleasant.
We loved the Japanese breakfast! We appreciated the clean towels and sheets every day. We liked the location across the street from Tokyo Central for shopping. We appreciated the secure and convenient parking.

The breakfast could have been better. When our taxi arrived at the hotel, a security man jumped out of the door and started yelling at our driver: "Out! Out! Immediately!" He continued yelling and threatening the driver until he pulled out. As a result, we had to walk to the hotel with our luggage under the rain. This was our first impression of the hotel. Horrible and absolutely unacceptable.
The hotel is very clean. Staff both in the hotel and the restaurant is very friendly, polite and helpful. With one exception (see below). The room was very clean and convenient. The breakfast was barely OK though.

Well no one told me whether was booking.com or the hotel that I had to use a credit card actually I specifically asked and I was told that I could use a Visa debit which most places do use they told me the next time I come back I would have to use a credit card well I've had my identity stolen so I don't have any credit cards so I'll just call booking.com and find one hopefully I'll be able to find one as good as that one for one night it was kind of priced high in my opinion I know the cost of living one up but $162 for a night in the hotel from Sunday to Monday room overnight it's a bit much on a Sunday going into Monday maybe $125 I mean it's going to be the weekday and you have to get up and leave other than that with that being said I do understand the cost of living but we day hotels don't get rented that often anyway
The hotel overall was a nice hotel Central located for all things access to.

I wish they had house slippers, even the cheap ones as the floor is cold in the winter and I don't like to wear shoes in the room. It would be nice to have an information sheet including the use of an iron, laundry services, etc. but it is not a major issue.
Location was good, within walking distance to the supermarket and many restaurants (many Asian), IHOP is across the street, and a spaghetti restaurant a 1/2 block away. Parking is very good, seems very private and secure. Front desk staff was very good and helpful.

Perhaps a bathtub mat could be available. The bath tub was very slippery with no added feature to prevent slipping and falling.
Location was fine for the purpose of my trip. Clean rooms. Nice size; not confining at all. Quiet floor. Very nice and friendly front desk staff; cleaning staff was very nice and accommodating. the breakfast was very good. Restaurant staff provided good and friendly service. Really like the free parking and the secured parking garage. Felt safe and appreciate the security cameras 24/7. The shower had good water pressure.
