Though the location was quiet, it was a bit of a drive (at least 15 minutes) to the nearest gas station/grocery store. Beds were comfortable, however the springs on the couch were very uncomfortable.

Location was nice and quiet. Instructions were very clear on picking up the keys and the home was quite spacious! Bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were stocked with all needed essentials.

The instructions on where to find the key for checkin were incorrect in the owner's email. When we called the primary contact, there was no answer. The secondary contact told us where to locate the key, and that the instructions have been out of date for some time. Shortly after we gained entry, the primary contact did call us with an apology. When we entered the house, we discovered there was no AC, a detail we overlooked when booking. Checking into a hot house after a long day of travel did not make a comfortable first impression. Fortunately, the house was cool at night if the windows were left open. The house would benefit greatly with the addition of a couple of mini-split AC units and/or additional floor fans to help draw in cooler outside air when the house is hot during the daytime. Once inside, a cockroach ran across the wall above the TV. Fortunately, this was the only time this happened. Pests were not a repeated problem. The house was very clean and adequately stocked with essential supplies. The frying pans supplied are of a low grade variety, making cooking breakfast and dinner a significant challenge. There is a significant amount of religious (Buddhist) decor in the main living areas, including the living room and lanai. These likely appeal to the owner's tastes as a "healer." However, more inclusive decor such as that appropriate to Hawaii may be considered.

The house was cute and peaceful. We enjoyed the sounds of the forest, including the birds, frogs, and even the neighbors chickens. We loved the Lanai (screened in porch), and enjoyed this area for both breakfasts and 2 dinners. The beds were quite comfortable and made for a restful night's sleep. The property is located close enough to the action, 20ish minutes from Hilo, but served as a nice, peaceful retreat away from the crowds. We enjoyed the Farmer's market in Hilo and the free Panaewa Zoo nearby. We traveled to Kilauea twice to witness the eruption that began just 10 days before our arrival and ended the day after our second visit to Volcanos National Park. It was serendipitous. We also enjoyed snorkeling at Richardson Park, one of the black sand beaches about 25 minutes away from the house.

The home was easy to find and away from the maddening crowd, as my husband would say. The enclosed lanai was so peaceful. It was the best place to unwind after a day of sight seeing. Very affordable and good value for the price. We stayed 3 nights. Ate every dinner at Kaleo's. Not too far from house and excellent food. Located about 40 minutes from Volcanoes National Park. Good place to stay if you want to see the Hilo side of the island.

We had 3 bedrooms with adequate room for our group of 3.

The location was good for our event. Decently distanced from the Hilo airport.
