Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was very little not to like. The room door was hard to open and close and it would have been nice to have access to a few more microwaves other than just the 1 per floor.
Amazing location, clean and spacious room, friendly staff, nice little cafe for breakfast. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Late at night there can be a few homeless people in the area, which can be quite intimidating:
Very easy to get to Manhattan using subway or walking across the Manhattan or Brooklyn bridges. Room was spacious and all staff were lovely.

Check in process was extremely long. more than an hour. I realise it was a Friday afternoon but more check in staff should have been provided. Also, 4pm is a ridiculously late check in time.

Disappointed the pool was not open, as this was part of the reason I booked this for my family.
Great location to get into Manhattan without the hustle & bustle. Friendly & helpful staff. Good size room & excellent cleanliness.

I liked the parking in the premises but it’s very expensive.
I like the adjoining rooms. The hotel lobby was beautiful, clean and beautifully designed. The staff was amazing and warm. The location was amazing. Right in the middle of downtown Brooklyn.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. It's quiet, yet only 5-10 minuttes away from Manhattan with the subway. Nearest station is a 3 minuttes walk away. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful when we asked for ekstra comforters etc. The room was very clean and housekeeping did a superb job, when they tidied the room everyday. There is a very cool and local brewhouse nearby (Circa), that i defenetely worth a visit and there are plenty of good local restaurants nearby - also at Brooklyn Bridge, which is a 10 minuttes walk away. We will definetely recommend this hotel to anybody, And there is no doubt, that we will book it again the next time we are in NYC

I didn’t like that the room was cold, even with the thermostat on high the room was still freezing.
I like the quick and easy check in and out. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.

I reserved a king bed room a month before my trip but when we arrived I was told there were no king beds available and we were put in a double. We had to really push to move to the room we had reserved (the second night). I really would have appreciated more initiative from the front desk in handling the issue.
Comfortable and extremely convenient hotel with quality Marriott facilities.

for the amount of money paid for a night. it’s sad that they had the bar open w/o social distancing, but the restaurant wasn’t opened for proper breakfast. Had to walk 6 minutes to go get food. Not cool.

There was no space to eat if you got food from a local restaurant, which did not have seating due to COVID. They said we should eat in room, but there is only 1 chair and we are a family of four, leaving us to eat on bed

A very large Room. Extraordinary large for New York. Next to subway. 2 stops to Manhattan. Next to nice streets, shops, cafes in Brooklyn.
