Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNo heater when it gets cold, but I have plenty blankets.
I had a room with a personal wash area and besides the cold temperatures, I truly enjoyed my entire stay. I was checked in by a wonderful woman, and we even shared a meal. I love good energy and she had it. I would stay again for sure.

United States of AmericaThe lobby should be updated to match the rooms. Don't be taken aback for the look of the entrance, the room is pretty nice.
Excelent hotel recently renovated. The room is spacious, updated and really clean. The staff is super attentive. They gave me all kind of suggestions to make the most of my stay. And the location is perfect; walking distance to Balboa Park, LIttle Italy or Downtown.

NetherlandsGood stay overall. Room is quite small and the bed is narrow. A fan keeps it slightly cooler in the room. The walk downtown is about 20 minutes. There's street parking available, sometimes at a cost.

FranceI did not like the absence of a sink in the bathroom (there is one in the main room to wash dishes). Quite expensive but that’s a San Diego feature (or a bug). It’s a bit noisy because of planes landing but windows are good and they do the job
Very friendly stuff, they agreed to keep luggage for the checkout day. I liked the presence of a laundry which helped me with my 2-week trip. Position is 10 min walking from the harbour and in a decent neighbourhood. Very close to balboa park

United States of AmericaThe location was sketchy at night. I didn’t realize there were shared bathrooms that you had to walk to from your room. The shared bathroom did not have any shelving space for clothes, towels, etc. except for a small nook inside the shower for soaps. The windows in the room are right on the sidewalk (first floor) and it feels like people can look in, BUT were able to be concealed with blinds. No shelves under the TV to hook up a Nintendo switch in the hotel room and the TV was pretty high up. My boyfriend said the pillows were pretty stiff. There was construction going on during the day but stopped before we got back to the room at 10PM.
Location close to many tourist attractions/downtown and the front doors are locked with a keypad. Forgot to ask for hotel parking but was able to park overnight in front and on the side of the hotel. The room was cozy and cheap. The full bed was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I. The shared bathrooms were nice, pretty clean, and had a huge shower. The staff had great customer service and the lobby was pretty.

United States of AmericaJust be careful when booking your room because there are options for a shared community bathroom which I didn’t see and I accidentally booked for that room but the staff were able to switch me to a room with a private bathroom. Also the first room we got was very small and the bed sheets were dirty but when we switched rooms to the one with a private bathroom it was very clean and spacious.
Great location and really friendly staff.

United KingdomThe hotel, while the rooms themselves are comfortable, does show its age in a few ways. The most notable of these for me was the buildings centralised air-conditioning/heating system, as opposed to room-by-room temperature control. For a large portion of my stay the air conditioning was on full blast through a vent in the ceiling, making my room absolutely freezing. Attempting to close the vent didn't have much affect on the temperature, but did make the vent very loud as the fast airflow whistled through the narrow gaps. As difficult as renovations may be, any kind of system to regulate the temperature room-by-room would fix this problem, and would have dramatically improved the quality and comfort of my stay. The staff were very gracious and conscious of this, adjusting the building's heat where possible, but according to them some of the other guests' rooms were very hot, and it is not ideal to have some rooms be freezing and others boiling, but only one setting for the air conditioning. The shower in my bathroom was also not very impressive. The water was cold and didn't flow particularly well from the old shower head Also, a little more attention to detail could have been applied in the cleaning process. While the room in general was very clean, some of the higher shelves still had little bits of mess on them when I entered the room. Lastly, as a minor point - modern updates such as USB charging points would have been appreciated to better accommodate more modern gadgets as well as international travellers such as myself, who only have a limited number of USA plug adapters.
The bed was comfortable, and the room was of a good size. There was lots of shelf and cupboard storage space, which was excellent. Lots of towels were provided, as well as flannels for washing, which was very convenient. The location of this hotel is excellent, being right next to Balboa Park, which is full of interesting things to see/do as well as lots of nice places to eat in the surrounding area, and is also a short walk from Little Italy, which has even more nice places to eat. It has space at the roadside for a convenient uber/taxi pick up also, and is close enough to the main roads/freeway that it doesn't take long to get a taxi ride to anywhere in particular I.e the beach, the harbour, the airport, or the Santa Fe Depot train station. The pin system for the front door is a good system from a security standpoint, the building didn't feel at all unsafe. The staff were also very helpful with advice and with attempting to help with any issues faced.
