I had an injury that required me to stay in room one day. They are updating rooms so a bit of construction noise (not at NIGHT), but I am sure this is not a common occurrence. It is nice they want to make there place up to date.

Unfortunately had to remind the staff few times to clean the room and change the sheets. The room had a ceiling fan, but not the air-conditioner.

The staff was very helpful and nice. And the hotel itself was clean. The location is excellent, close to Balboa Park, and a walking range from downtown.

Good location close to Balboa Park and Little italy. You can easily walk to the bay side or take the trolley to the old town bus station to go to the beaches (La Jolla, etc). Very welcoming and helpful reception staff !

The room was not so comfortable, plus walls are really subtle and we could ear any kind of noise coming from the next room. Our room did not correspond to the pictures. However, we were compensated with a reimbursement about it, so it was not a big deal and we are overall satisfied.

Location was perfect, very close to downtown, and personnel was extremely nice, helpful and polite.

I wish there was an option to make the shower door private to have others access the restroom at the same time. I was unsatisfied that there were no outlets in the bathroom. It was surprising that our key card stopped working and we were locked out at night. Luckily, I had taken a photo of the emergency number in the front desk, which is was saved us because there was no one up front and no numbers posted to client view. A long mirror and A/C or fan would've be appreciated.

I liked that there was an extra bed up in the ceiling, but hoped that this could have been properly communicated when booking the room as there was a bit of a cost difference between a similarly advertised room. I appreciated the tv, the dishes & utensils provided, mini-fridge, microwave, and shelves. I love the modernized look! Overall, I would return.

the details are well thought through, all the modern necessities and nothing more. the location is a double edged sword. in the middle of the airplanes arrival path but close to some nice attractions.

There wasn't anyone on site to answer questions. The airplanes flying over before landing at the nearby airport were a bit of a distraction in the evening. We stripped the bed as asked and discovered on of the pillows had old, dried blood on it.

The sewer system for the whole building was backed up and the previous people that were staying in our room left as soon as they noticed it.

It felt like a secure location and the room was remodeled.

Our queen room was small and just adequate: bed, a chair, no manual AC control except for a ceiling fan, no sink in the bath/shower room, a sink but no soap or towel in kitchenette, the window faced a wall. the junior suite was more pleasant with a balcony, a full bed and a full Murphy bed, but some noise from landing planes was a bother.

the location is their main positive. It's an easy walk to Balboa Park's museums, and well as within a mile to the Midway and Little Italy. kitchenette with fridge, Microwave, Keurig, a couple of plates. the bed was very comfortable. the room was very quiet facing away from the street.

False advertising. None of the rooms have air conditioning. We booked a room with a kitchenette but got a room without one. The hotel has not responded to our concerns.

I CALLED POLICE at middle of night!!! A stranger tried to enter my room a few times but the front desk closed at 6pm. the worst experience in my life. Next day, we asked to check their security camera since me and the police couldn’t find the criminal. But they don’t set up any security camera anywhere!!!! Such an unprofessional management and they premised to refund everything but they have never contacted me after that. We were supposed to stay there 3 nights but we left immediately after the worst accident. REFUND PLEASE!!!

We received our keys via a lockbox, the problem was that the room key didn’t work. We tried to contact the hotel but nobody replied and nobody was at the reception. So we had to pay for the stay but hat no chance to access our room.
